My car was snowed two days ago. I took it out today and on the highway, the steering wheel was vibrating very noticeably above 50mph. Could it be due to some snow left in/around the front wheels ?

    ice buildup in the rims?

flat-spotted tires, if the car sat for a few days?

You likely have snow in your rims- I've had this happen on several different cars. Going 50+ MPH the centripetal forces are noticable with just a little bit of snow stuck in there...

Ice maybe but today its 40ish so it should have melted. No flat spot as the car only sat for at most 48h.

I had it happened to me once in Wisconsin but the vibrations were gone after a few miles. I did around 10 miles today and still feel it..I ll go wash the car..

Shouldnt the snow melt with friction and 40ish degrees ? Will a car wash solve the pb ?

    thanks !

Got my Cayman out today and had the same thing. Nothing a nice speed-balancing couldn't handle.

My steering wheel vibrates until the tires warm up in my srt6. Once I go 15 miles or so it' smooth :D

That's the first thing I'd check....snow buildup inside the rims behind the spokes. Because it's packed snow and such, it may take longer to melt. High pressure wash usually breaks it up.

Left office early and all was fine. It must have melted while parked in the afternoon sun.
