So I was discussing with my wife the idea of selling a couple of cars and revisiting the purchase of a 360 Modena. A caveat of any car that we have owned is that she says we must be able to drive it all year, regardless of weather conditions. We have done this with various cars, and today the topic came up again as it is snowing here in Indiana. I have had snow tires on my NSX, a 911 C4, and even a 348ts many years ago, so I was curious if anyone here has done this with a 360 yet, and if so, which tires did you use?

Please refrain from telling me how driving one in the snow is lunacy, because that is your opinion, and will not impact my decision to do so anyway. What I am looking for is factual information about tires that would make the car more capable to drive in the winter, and would assist in keeping me on the road if I should encounter snow.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I have been very pleased with Bridgestone Blizzaks on my AWD Porsche 996 TT, but my 360 doesn't go out to play in the snow.

Don't think it is lunacy, as I drove a couple of my Porsches in the snow, actually bought snow tires for the Boxster and the turbo had all wheel drive. But, the issue is clearance and I think you will not be very happy or successful with driving in more than about 3" of snow.

    Good luck.

I am getting these for my F430 for winter duty. Blizzaks are great for driving in real snow and ice conditions. I will leave those days to my BMW X5 M with Blizzaks. As stated above ground clearence will be your issue in fresh snow.....Steve

The ExtremeContact DWS (DWS for Dry, Wet & Snow) is Continental's Ultra High Performance All-Season radial developed for drivers of sports cars, sports coupes, performance sedans and sport trucks. The ExtremeContact DWS is designed to satisfy their year-round driving needs by blending dry and wet road performance with light snow and slush traction.

ExtremeContact DWS features an advanced silica-based, high-grip, all-season tread compound molded into a unique asymmetrical tread design with stable shoulder blocks and a continuous, notched intermediate rib on the outboard side to enhance responsiveness and cornering stability. The center of the tread features independent blocks separated by high-angle, criss-cross grooves to provide the biting edges necessary to deliver wet road and light snow traction while independent inboard shoulder blocks help disperse water to further enhance hydroplaning resistance and foul weather traction.

The ExtremeContact DWS features Tuned Performance Indicators — visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has sufficient tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and light snow. After the "S" has worn away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has sufficient tread depth for dry and most wet road conditions. And after the "W" and "S" have both worn away, the remaining "D" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions only.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wound jointless nylon cap plies to provide long-term integrity under high-speed conditions while reducing weight and helping to provide more uniform ride quality.

I thought about the ground clearance, but my NSX is lower than a 360 and it did just fine. I think I have around 1 1/2 - 2 inches of ground clearance with that car. Blizzak LM25s are the savior of that car.

I also drove my NSX in the winter and you are right, it did fine, but I never took it out in heavy snow so no experience there. And I agree Bizzaks are the way to go for dependable winter driving......Steve
