The white stuffs getting deep over here. Got the 195s and the 200s ready for the slopes soon! Thanks.
Are you guys talking about skis? DAMN. 205?!? How tall are you? My skis are 161 and 167. Then again, I'm only 5'8" and the 161's are twin tip Salomon 1080's.
Ahhhhh, ski talk! Something I can relate to! I spent years of my life ski racing (boarding school and then college). Before these new fangled shaped skis cam out I used a 195 slalom and a 200 GS ski (I am 5'-7.5"). I am not sure what I rn with the shaped skiis. I only ski maybe once a year and I use demos now. I think I use about a 185.
cool, I figured there would be other boarding school people on FChat. Where did you go? I went to Andover and loved it. Maybe it should be a new thread...
TURN???? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO TURN????!!!? My daughter met Picabo Street for a signed poster after her gold. She said: Forget the eight's. Make some figure elevens! The new shape skis do drop a lot of length against the old styles. As some young punk waxed my PRE 1200s last year he said, "Man, these are like brand new. Where do you get these antique skis, mister?" I told them my knees and ankles were the same vintage. He got some unmounted 190cm PRE blanks out of the store room, and I traded him my Glenn Plake poster for 'em. I told the church kids back at the condo that Santa gave 'em to me, and went out to the balcony for a Macanudo and a Wild Turkey 101. God Bless.
I attended Berkshire School in Sheffeild, MA. I skiied (though not well) for thier JV squad, and then at B.U. skiied on thier team (where I grew into a pretty good racer). I really specialized in G.S.. I was, and still am, a more technical skiier rather than a "balls out" skiier. There was a time when I would ski literally every day that there was snow on the ground, and train in the off season. Now, I only really ski in Aspen, and only once a uear, if that, for about a week. I jsut don't really have the time or the inclination to ski anymore, though when I do, I wish I could do it more. Ah well.
Just talked to my sweetie in Colorado Springs. She says it is great! Maybe Breckinridge after the New Year! Happy Holidays.
