    I just drove the Snowy Mountains Highway from Tumut to Cooma. All I can say is why wasn't I told about this road before? :D

    No Pap - I brought the Merc. Wrong car for this part of the journey. I rounded up half a dozen bikers though. :)

    Got a couple of pics in my phone - I'll up them later if they come out OK.

    I remember driving that when I was 18 in a BMW e30 323i. Had snow both sides of the road but the tarmac was clear.

    Very memorable :)

    Would love to do it in a decent car

    i do that drive about 3 times a year

    the other good one is from Khancoban to thredbo

    Melbourne Mille often has this road on the rally if around that area.Fantastic road for the old cars and there ability to move around without modern traction aids.

    Only got as far as Wagga last night and only spent an hour in Canberra - it was a spur of the moment decision to take a detour.

    Last time I was in Canberra was 20 years ago - and that's where I stayed. Good joint. My room had a great view of Lake BG.

    i would do it......need a decent car w=especially for the 90 km run from khancoban to thredbo...I need a tax deduction to check out the apartment
