I'm embarassed of my result of a lousy 9/16! I knew I didn't know much about the 246 history, but didn't know I was that dumb.

the Ferrari Owner's website has a competition for an etching of a 246 based on this historical questionaire. Knowing I wouldn't win, I didn't lean on Mr Google for help - which would of been a better idea. Apparently only allowed to do once.

Would likely be pretty easy for most here

    Got 15.

Can't figure out which I missed,

Probably the one about the origins of the "Dino" logo.

Did anyone else see that they are removing the Ferrari owners email boxes from their website at end of year?

It was kinda nice to have it although their were quirks....

I feel rather pleased with myself, or is it the fact that i am a proud owner of
Doug Nye's fabulous book on the Dino where i found all but one of the answers to the EIGHTEEN questions. The one i guess that i have got wrong is the question asking which 365 model shares the same instrument binnacle as the 246? I had not a clue! so 17 out of 18 but no print for me either.

Without looking up ANY of the answers, and admittedly guessing on 2 or 3, I got 16. It was a fun quiz.

I knew that one! The Dino and the Daytona share a lot of bits and bobs. The instument panel is very similar to the Daytona, but I don't think it's the same?

I wish the Dino's were cheaper - it would be cool to have a little sister to my Daytona. For now - I have to call the 308 the little sister, or maybe it should be the neice? :)

Yep the Daytona instrument binicle is the same as the Dino, as well as the turn signal assembly. I thought the question about the English TV series favored the Brits though.

alright, i answered 15/16 correctly. i don't know which i missed. i knew most of the answers, but did "verify" acouple i wasn't 100% certain. the only one that i, in hindsight, think could be wrong would be the dino logo question. i clearly remember reading that it was based on his signature. is this true or not? unless there is some technically misleading question (ie- such as the coachwork in alloy vs. steel question - which doesn't offer the correct answer in the selection) i can't figure out what i missed.

I agree, I answered that the 246 was steel with alu hood. I got 17/18 correct. There wasn't an answer that was entirely correct. The first 357 246GT's("L" Series) up to chassis *01116* had steel bodies with alloy opening panels (doors, trunk, hood and decklid) then I understand through the "M" series many of those had alloy hoods and/or trunks. I only know for sure on the "L" Series. It would be great for others to check on their "M" and later series and respond.

Mine's a GTS 04004 US spec which I assume is a M Series. I'm not sure what the engine deck lid material is but it's sure heavy for one person to hold in place while removing and re-installing - maybe I'm just getting weak. DUH! Why don't I get the magnet out and see?

IIRC there were 18 questions. I got an honest 15 correct (i.e. without looking anything up).

Sorry to say, but there were 18 questions, not 16. For those of you who received a "Congratulations! You have answered 16 questions correctly!" you actually missed 2.

Don't feel bad, though. Without looking anything up, I missed 4 of the 18, one of which was definitely the 1970's British TV series. Not sure about the others.

The whole Britsh "Persuaders" series is available. You can order them at Barnes and Noble in two sets. Lots of early Dino action.
