...and here's what day 1 looked like. Go figure, eh?

Good thing I've got enough screws loose upstairs to take it in stride ;)

Looks good! SII FHC is a bargain IMHO.

Exactly, so you can use that $$ for towing. :)

Good luck getting her running again, a very pretty car, and a good value, all kidding aside. :)

Thanks for the replies all. It's just one of many Jags that have passed through these hands, yet it's my first XKE. Anyhow, Arthur; it's on Stromberg 175s, which I am intimately familiar with, having owned tons of TR6s as well, however I think I'm going to dump them in favor of Weber DCOE 'trips'. I believe '68 was the last year for SUs.

And I agree with the concensus, the SII FHC is a bargain. Still has the sleek lines (wouldn't have a 2+2 for love nor money I'm afraid though) and, unlike the OTS, you can actually travel in it.

Was originally a California car which then went to Colorado for some time, so basically it's as rust-free as I could ask. Was redone 25 years ago and is coming due again soon, so I'm opting for a color change, both inside and out, and the decision is Navy Blue (non-metallic) with Saddle leather--one of my favorite color combinations on ANY car :D

Should be a wild ride, but my mind and my Merrill Lynch accounts are prepped ;)

    Cheers,
    Aaron

How much was it? Does it run?

Forget the re-do - drive the hell out of it. Mine isn't concours by any stretch, but it runs and it's mine :) I have a S1 FHC, and it's a hoot.

rdefabri; well, the price is between the seller and I, but I know that I bought it 'right' ;)

Webby; How many cars? Not many at the moment; two Jags, my beloved MGB-GT and a Mercedes Gelandewagen. I sold the Citroen DS a few weeks ago and am presently scoping another Jag, a MK.X (420G) or perhaps another Turbo R.

    Cheers,
    Aaron

"unlike the OTS, you can actually travel in it."

I "travel" in my OTS all the time, often for 1,200 miles and more in a long weekend.
    With the top down.

Ok, but where do you put the luggage? The boot rack is for the spare parts kit ;)

You are correct that space is limited, however, I carry spares and tools and can fit two
duffel type bags in the trunk then as you see another case on the rack. Also a few
items go behind the seats. Glad a previous owner added the rack.
