Unexpectedly saw it flying around this morning at the Andrews AFB air show:

It was much louder than I expected at takeoff, but was fairly quiet when circling around the base. I got too close to it after it had landed (see the pics of the Dodge Charger chase car I got close) as they weren't quick enough to rope it off. A number of AF guys with assault rifles quickly asked me to step back. ;) Too bad I missed the landing as I was in line to go into the C17 cockpit.

The C5 "Super" Galaxy, B1, F35, B25 (both of them!), Mustangs, Raptor, and Thunderbirds were fantastic as expected. The G650 on display was nice as was the Super Guppy. I think I spotted a Boeing C32 hiding behind one of the hangers through the windows.

great shots! particularly the P51/F4U "dogfight".

I've never seen the single "hinge" on the Guppy...don't crimp those cables

The Andrews show was always one of the better military open houses, though in my day, when I lived up north, it was usually held in May, around Armed Forces Day, and there was often some participation from one of the NATO allies.

I'll bet that Bob Parks will have some comment about Kent Pietsch and his "world's smallest airport" act. That Interstate that he flies is a pretty rare bird.
