Buy an oil company at a bargain.

    Houstonian or Hotel Sorella.

Pappas Steak or Taste of Texas (or one of another 100 other great places).

    Hope that helps :D

I'm confused. Are you in Houston going to stay in Houston or are you going to Dallas from Houston?

OK. Your title on the OP is what threw me.

Can't tell you much about Dallas doings but if you're up this way check out Ft. Worth. Sundance Square, and downtown in general, has lots of restaurants, bars, and shops. Omni Hotel, Worthington Hotel, Etta's Place (B&B). More restaurants on West 7th Street.

Ah, ok post was confusing. Said Houston.

    Ritz for Hotel

    Tons of Shopping (Highland, Northpark)
Tons of Car Shopping (every brand)

Food...too many to list (have concierge at Ritz hook you up).

What kind of hotels do you like? Chain? Boutique?
What kind of food do you prefer?

I am flying to New Orleans tomorrow! Make sure you check on hotel availability. Mardi Gras season has started there and hotels can be expensive and hard to get.

I would say Personal Safety is a much larger concern in New Orleans than in (MOST parts) of Dallas.

    So, be careful!

Take cabs door to door, is the main response, so NO walking down sidewalks or thru dark alleys.
