there was someone who wanted to buy property somewhere so they could register a car there and obtain a license. Which state would be best for not having speeding points/suspensions carry over? Just kinda curious for my imaginary friend.

    NY is a good one.

    http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/license.htm#points
only downside is that you're close to ny so you would drive there and if you get a ticket there = points.

Did a little research on this topic. Here is what I uncovered.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver_License_Compact
Some states do not assess points for minor offenses and apply the DLC for only major violations such as Colorado, Maryland, Nevada, New York and Pennsylvania

Cliffnotes: Buy a ski home in Aspen or a nice bachelor pad in Las Vegas.

Officer claimed I was doing 103 in 65. I wasnt. He didnt get my speed cause my laser diffuser worked. I was in the middle lane with people passing me on the left.

Judge doesnt care if it was my first offense. He thinks I should be happy I only got 60 days. Lawyer got everything else thrown out. Might file an appeal with the county. Lets see what happens.

    I propose a run on Feb 18th:)

I have never checked into this but I heard of people getting international drivers licenses and when they get stopped they show that. Sort of like getting a out of state ticket if you know what I mean.

Hey Shivam, my passenger side is always open for ya.
Or, get yourself a pretty chauferette.

Looking at my International Driving Permit (if there is a difference for a license?) It's good for 1 year, Costs $10 from AAA, takes 10min & a passport picture to get. BUT it says "USA International Motor traffic" and lists your address. Owned.

that might be true if you never had a license in the state youre getting pulled over, they run your name and date of birth, and if they see you have a suspended license, youre going to get arrested. the only way to get back on the road is to apply for a restricted license for going back and forth to work.

Sorry to hear about this, the cop is a prick, he couldve wrote the ticket under 100 so you can keep your liscense....... best thing is to collect some PBA cards and have some contact

I am so damn bummed for you!

    NO JUSTICE NO PEACE!

I say we all get in our exotics and drive down to the mall this friday on the busiest shopping day and take up all the good spots - who's with me? NJ cops really got to find some better way to raise money. If you were in a minivan or SUV they wouldn't have even noticed.

my advice, get a motorcyle license, and get into super bikes really heavy, will satisfy your need for speed big time!

not ot hijack the thread but this is a good time to inquire as any, what is the best radar detector these days? what should I tell santa to get me?

better yet, i wish i was a cop so I could follow the judge home or when he is driving around. If he went 0.00001 mph over the speed limit I would give him a ticket. Then I would run to law school, pass the bar, become a judge and suspend his license for 90 days. Technically they can suspend your license for 90 days for even 1 mph over according to NJ law. That would show him how much it sucks to have a suspended license. They should at least let you go to work. Luckily I can work from home/own my own business. I couldnt even imagine how hard it would be for someone who relied on their car to get to work. Stupid NJ.

escort 8500 x50. It has saved me a million times. And even with this instance, i know my escort zr3 shifter worked. After going through alot of info, the ticket was somehow changed from Laser device to "Pacing" seems very shady to me. How can I get issued a ticket for speed clocked by a laser device and then the court tells me the cop was pacing me.

Damn that bites..... I once got a ticket for driving 45mph in a 55mph zone as I was coming onto the freeway from an onramp.
Apparently speeding up to merge is considered careless driving in NJ.
    Who woulda thunk it!

If you need a fix, I know a small stretch of private road in you can whip through on the weekends.....

    Cheers mate!
