First time posting but longtime reader on fchat. I've learned plenty off this forum and just want to consume as much information as I can before buying a 360. I'm looking at buying one in the shortterm (2-3 yrs) when a 2002-2003 spider will level off somewhat.
Question is: With so many 360 spiders for sale, with a wide range of prices and locations in US to purchase, how would anyone start to weed out the good and bad? How many do I have to go see before i know that 'this is the one'? I live in Toronto and cant start flying off city-city inspecting 360's.
I've been told only modifications needed to import a 360 to Canada is the DRL and tach. (Not the bumpers).
Aside from import tax ...I still see a huge difference in Cdn and US car.

You may have more to choose from, but you'll eliminate 99% pretty fast.

    1. Mileage (look for relatively low mileage-avoid the 2k cars though-the ultra low never driven cars)
    2. Paint and body work (it's okay to respray the bumper, but everything else should be checked out thoroughly)
    3. Maintenance (the biggest, really. Has it been done, by whom, papers, on time, what's PENDING?,) The biggies (and/or pia stuff): Clutch, brakes, variators, sticky black crap, belts-major, foggy headlights,...
    4. Any aftermarket modifications? Do you have the original parts?
    5. Have the campaigns been done?
    6. You should have long ago decided on you 6spd or F1; so time to see and drive the car
    7. PPI
    8. Offer
    9. Have a beer and mull counter offer..
    10. Seal the deal and go get it~

Issues I had with mine within 3 months:

    1. Noticed the headlights were fogged--can only see it at night with lights on
    2. Clutch started slipping--new clutch--grr!
    3. Some secondary air code showed up on the OBDII reader--hose loose.
    4. Chunk missing from the under body protection panel--no biggie--replaced
    5. Sticky stuff-replaced some components and wiped down the others-like the wiped down version better.

Other than that, it's been the most fun car I've ever owned. I love driving it.

look and feel 5 cars, from all price ranges, and have a check list in hand....year, service records, owners on title, etc....then compare all 5 just to see where you are and what you are comfortable with. If you think there are alot of 360s, just wait when the 430s hit the market in the next 3 yrs, there are over 20,000 cars of those to be produced.
Goos luck in your search !

dont be afraid of mileage. A car with mileage and very few issues, will most likely be rock solid for many more. You never know what your getting with a very low mileage car. It could be a time bomb just waiting to go off. Warranty is everything on these cars...so if you're not getting one or you only have a max of 1 year of coverage, i'd look for the higher mileage no story cars.

I would start with Fchat dealer sponsors! We have a community resonseablity to provide to the members here with information, and facts on the cars we offer as well as cars we passed up on buying for the reasons we passed them up! I have a vested intrest here Fcaht both to help provide good clean no story cars, as well full histories on all I offer!

So when the time comes start here with guys that support and help this community!
