Let's imagine he succeed. Everybody will have almost the same cars and anybody can hire any driver.

What stops KIA from entering, buying the standard chassy, paying standard salary to hire MS and Kimi and winning both championships ? Just to claim they beat Mercedes, Ferrari and the rest and everybody should buy Kias because they are the best and come with 10year warranty ?

Can't Moosley understand that F1 isn't the special Olympics and it's racing - and you have to be the best to win.

Max is a lame ass who has been dumbing down the sport since 1998. As soon as he went to those **** groove tires and narrow body chassis, that was it. If he had any sense he would reduce; diffusers, barge boards, wing sizes and bring back Mechanical grip instead of Aero. In addition, the ECU and other parts being an FIA mandated product is the dumbest thing. F1 is the pinnacle and as such it should be based on innovation, not common parts.

Does Max really have nothing else to do except ruin F1 ? As President of FIA I'd imagine he would be incharge of other motorsports besides F1 ? And I believe FIA are responsible not just for motorsports but stuff such as safety regulations on road cars etc. ? Why cant he take time off from destroying F1 and do what he is paid to do at an intelligence level higher than that of the average monkey ?

Actually he is and goes indeed to great lengths to govern other sports as well. I read an interview with him where he talked about the struggle: He is trying to keep the speeds in check by introducing new regulations etc. Problem is, once he has F1 "under control" the next lesser series has to be governed as well or F1 starts to look stupid because they run the same amount of speeds and hp. So a ripple effect goes through all sports. Once a cycle like that is complete he can go back to the top (F1) and start all over again.

It is not an easy job and I have some respect for the man. But he does seem to go about the issue the wrong way.

But then what is the point of 'He who has the most money - wins' ?
The best drivers in crappy equipment do not win. The 'worst' drivers in the best equipment don't win.
Keep that in mind when you remember who was second banana to Piquet when he was at Brabham, second to Senna at Lotus (first Dumfries, then the Japanese guy.....), second drivers in a lot of teams, but granted, not all teams have distant second drivers.

You get two equally great drivers on one team and it seems you always had problems, see Prost/Senna at McClaren, Prost/Arnoux at Renault, Piquet/Mansell at Williams, etc.

Renault won with far from the most money. There were some great performances of good drivers in Jordan and Midland.

F1 is constructors championship - you need to do more than just show up to be competitive.

Agreed. F1 is somewhat different from some other forms of motorsports in that in F1 you need to build a winning car and just having the best driver is not enough for a team. I think its an important part of F1 and it shouldn't be eliminated. Otherwise it becomes hard to differentiate between F1 and say, GP2 or A1GP.

Bring back that crazy Jean Marie Balestre, now that would be a riot. Does anyone remember his interviews, where he would smash his fist on the table and his face would get disfigured? He was a lot more fun than Max.

    Amen.

Let's bring back the slicks and wide chassis. The new style of cars may be "superior" to the old but they don't look like a proper F1 car should. And while we're at it, stuff a V12 in the back.

    MP4/5B forever. Max Mosley never.
