I'v been pissed off before, but this one put me over the edge. I caught wind yesterday of the PeterS bashing that was going on behind the scenes at FChat and got pretty bent about it. If somebody is going to badmouth me, they better have the balls to do it in person. Hearing what I heard, I sent Rob an email stating: Rob; If you have any complaints about my conduct on FChat, I would appreciate if you will come to me first. PeterS His reply was as follows: I have problems with your behavior. Especially paintball threads!!! WTF is with 'Especially paintball threads'? Who in the hell did I piss off with that thread? Why is starting a paintball thread such a crime on FChat? What the hell is this board turning into? Did I say (In the paintball thread) that we should take out guns and shoot police and people of color or religious groups? Hell NO I did not! As for other 'problems with my behavior, lets get this out in the open. OK, I had one thread whacked where the timing was probably not appropriate, FAR less worse than the Coolestkidever's post that got Brother Bruce upset. I agreed and we moved on with life. As for other behaivor issues, some people are forgetting the Make -A-Wish thread I did a year ago where we raised about $3K that I wrote a check for out of my own pocket in the name of FChat. Oh ya, that is really poor behaivior. Listen up. I have been on this board for two plus years with a fair amount of posts and contributions. I contribute like most and enjoy the forum. For the most part, I stay out of the P&R section and have seldom ever started a flame thread. I have started threads that have stayed in the top ten for several days and have taken extra time to help many members in the business section with their marketing efforts. If MY balls are going to get busted for petty crap, I trust you will agree that there are MANY others in front of me. PeterS
It is called sarcastic humor. Intelligence required to get it. I'm a big paintballer and made the joke in there that we actually had something in common besides Ferraris.

FWIW we discuss a lot of things in the mod section that aren't necessarily meant for the rest of the board. Just the same as things that are said in the Rossa/Silver sections aren't always to be shared elsewhere. A prime example of this is the FChat Police thread... there are plenty of "suspects" who get talked about in there who turn out to be ok members. I know Pete and he is a good guy and so when his name was mentioned I stood up and said so. You can't condemn the mods for discussing members in our section when the very same thing happens in the Silver section. I can understand Peters frustration but the fact is that Rob only made one offhanded remark that somebody passed along. It's not worth getting all worked up about.
Actually, the process we have in place works well and was in the favor of PeterS. There are too many users and too many posts for one mod or one admin to know everything. The mod forum serves the purpose of talking things out and getting the best information to make the best decisions. I went into the mod forum and asked about PeterS after seeing some of his forum behavior. Mark told me he had worked things out with Peter over the phone and not to worry about it. Otherwise without that process I would have made an uninformed decision and probably temp banned Peter right there. So Peter and Bruce, do you want me to stop that process? Is that called talking behind someones back? My entire post about Peter in the mod forum was 5 words long and ended with a '?'. Is that talking behind someones back? I had nothing against Peter after Mark gave me the heads up. Peter emailed me and with nothing to discuss with him I made the "humorous" comment about the paintball thread that I was actively participating and we have a common interest. So now Peter thinks I'm saying awful things behind his back, I'm out to get him (well, now I am), and I hate paintball! Ferrari babysitting 101, but these babies aren't growing.
Why do the mods, who are supposed to be adults, need to spread information from the mod only section to those you speak about? Maybe a little mod modification is in order. I'd like to think you guys could keep your yaps shut about stuff that's supposed to be confidential. Just me ever decreasing value $.02 DM

Compare our titles.... Yeah, Peter is a great guy and this is all rather unfortunate. I think most of you who know me know that I will help out my friends here in every way possible. Sometimes though it is best to overlook a matter.
I dunno how some of this stuff gets out... all I ever do is make up lies to Carbon about what is going on behind the scenes. Hey Carb.... I hear Rob is gonna start a sub forum in the supercar section devoted entirely to Enzos..... Oh Yeah, The FBI has been snooping around asking questions.....
I hear ya. It just seems so counter productive to have the ability to work out issues in private, only to have them made public. If this "Spread the info" approach was what Rob wanted, he'd just make the mod forum public, right? Dave Oh, and I heard from my Dept. of Justice sources that Carbon was really in the witness protection program, hence the name changes.
So what you are saying is that the new mods arn't really mods at all but just a title that rob placed on the user. I for one would rather have rob or a mod come out in the open and say what they have to say instead of saying it behind the backs of users. The rossa and silver sections threads are not behind anyone's backs. They have the choice to subscribe or not if they choose not to subscribe then they don't get to see what people are saying in the sub forums.
Yeah I agree that some moderators should exercise more courtesy when talking about other members in the moderator forum. People aren't supposed to find out what goes in there, but guess what! They do. I didn't appreciate that thread about me a few months back. Omar and my business is not appropriate general moderator conversation, and anything unflattering that was posted as a result of my expressing a female's perspective on certain issues was not appreciated.
The biggest thing I have a problem with is Rob calling people names. It does not have a place here in a joking manner or a serious tone. It is against the rules of the board. Does that mean he should be banned now? And then threatening the user to be get kicked out of here. Another rule that has been broken. 1.1 No "Flaming": Please do not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another user.
