Eleven grand for a targa top, and he won't throw in the shipping? Cheapskate.

Got to give the guy credit for having some brass b@lls. The guy/gal that buys it? Well, I'd characterize them somewhat differently. ;)

A quote from the ad description ----

"These have become very rare and crazy expensive."

....so, I guess the seller is trying to create a self-fulfilling prophecy ?? ;)

I would actually really like to have one those Lexan tops --- always have. But, I'd say about $1K would be my very upper limit on just how strong my desire is :).

Well, what is the market for Saratoga tops? I mean, if you want to buy one what are your options?

Give them what they want for it basically, but they are $2500 - $3K USD last ones I heard go.

Well if this goes for $10k then it's pretty fair to extrapolate that our beloved 308's are now worth six figures. Even if they were I wouldn't sell mine......

but I might get some pressure from my wife to sell it.

Come to think of it, I hope 308 values stay low!! ;)

Or extrapolating, in three years the tops will equal the value of our 308s.

I bought mine last October on eBay for a little over 2. I don't recall exactly now but it was the lower 2's.

I love it, in fact, I have only taken it out a couple of times in the past year and one of those was for a track day. I have been thinking of selling just because I got it out of my system now. I'll use the money to rebuild my Alfa short block. Been dreaming of a balanced high compression maxed out motor in it for 17 years now.

    Maybe next winter.

Yes I saw this too and had a double take. I thought for a second it was $1,000. 308s are definitely the hot car nowadays. You would not believe how many calls I got on the red 308 Ted sold yesterday.

If they start selling for that kind of money, its only a matter of time till someone starts making them again.

The previous owner of my car had one that he offered to me after I bought the car. I just couldnt swing it at the time. I kinda wish I could have gotten it just for the cool factor. Oh well....

The guys who make the carbon fiber tops have stated they will make a clone of the Saratoga if they get 15 orders. They didnt state a price though, I can get back to them for a quote if there is some interest.

Come on guys. How come we poo-poo it every time a part or a car goes up for sale at a steep price? The more these things go for the more our cars are worth!!
