The FIA World Motor Sport Council decided that the MC12 was not eligible for the FIA GT Championship in it's current configuration and that a new agreement must be found between Maserati and the FIA Tech. Department.
This means that the car is not certain to be present at the Imola round of the FIA GT Championship , as originally planned.
Maserati may apply for homologation again to the next world council at the beginning of october.
This leaves the possibility to see the car racing before the end of the season.

Not certain. I was in negotiation, but when they saw the 1.2 in my account wasn't $1.2 million but $1.2 dollars, things kind of fell apart.

Well at that price I definitely would NOT have said no (given I had access to enough funds). Even for flipping - although I'm sure they're trying to pin down buyers who aren't looking to sell, as they did with the Enzo.

But given the exclusivity, even with the less enticing rear wing for the road model I'd still take it. After all, that's $400k less than a used Enzo!

 

And it looks much better than the Enzo. IMO
