Good luck! i just bought a 2004 360 F1 with 2.750 miles on it. Performed a major before picking it up, and the car hasn't missed a beat. Don't forget the 360's where build in a different Ferrari era.. They are better built, and feel more solid than my F355. Good luck, and I hope all goes well. PS: Congrats on the stick shift, my 355 is also a 6 spd, and its definently a plus.
If this was a 30 year old 308 I would say ship it but an 03 360 should be an easy trip. Make sure you know how to properly operate the top and the correct starting sequence. If you run into any issues post them up here and you should have an answer in 15 minutes or less. Congrats and have a fun trip with your brother.
Please post photos and write daily updates here (maybe start a new thread). I would love to have the time to drive mine across the country.
I will provide some updates and picture. The story will be published in an automotive related blog. I'll share details once things are more concrete! I'm really excited about this!! My brother is flying from Mexico just for this trip.
Don't worry about the ''doomsday prophets'' here. Get the service you have scheduled, and drive home. These cars are very good.
When I purchased my 03 360 I drove from Arizona to California ..... No PPI or nothing. The best drive of my life!!!. When I stopped for gas, the car wouldn't start but all it was Was the alarm re-sets...a quick phone call to the previous owner took care of it. Listened to Johnny Cash on the way home.
Hey FerRrari...Congrats! Awesome choice for your first Fcar! Ping me if you get a chance (not going to ERTC this Sat). As you know I have some knowledge and experience on long drives with 360s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Another plus is the 3-pedal aspect which is far more bullet proof than the early F1s. Keep an eye out on the clutch. They are actually very robust but can have problems if not used often enough. Start using it -- a lot, as you are planning.
It will be fine. I bought a 600 mile, 5 year old Testarossa...... flew ti Michigan and drove it to Arizona. It was an epic adventure! If you are an old FCA member, the trip was featured in Prancing Horse #112. Have fun and be safe! Take lots of pictures. It's a trip you will remember for the rest of your life! Enjoy the new car man, and spending time with your bro is a bonus. The car will be awesome on that trip. It'll be a blast. It won't break Cheers
Rear Main Seal. It prevents oil getting past the crank and into the bell housing. Lack of use means they dry up and when they start to be used again they let oil past.
Congrats! Sounds like your just about there to start that road trip! Safe journey and we'll be looking out for your pics and report on how well things went! Cheers.
Have a great trip and enjoy and if anything happens, it's part of the experience and a many years down the road, it will become a fun conversation piece with your brother.
Still on the road, but almost at our hotel in Rochester, MN. The car is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Some pics... Sent from my RM-820_nam_att_100 using Tapatalk Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
