Just had the seats reconditioned and the wife and I put new fabric on shelf, side and overhead panels so now it's on to having the starter rebuilt, 3 new crank sensors, relay up-grade for side marker/turn signal, shampoo carpets and general engine bay cleaning. Also thinking about having the plenum powder-coated wrinkle red.

Oh ya, every now and then taking her out when the roads are clear and taking advantage of the cold dense air.

I have a 328 and the starter is a Bosch that also fits VW. I got it at NAPA. Might be cheaper and less trouble than having it rebuilt. The picture is my original starter with the NAPA aquired one. They are absolutely identical. Right down to the stampings. I don't know if the 308 uses the same starter.

Got my seat back. It's beautiful. The shop made a completely new leather seat cover, removed the origin and installed the new one. They charged me $280. I regret not doing it sooner.

In the next few months I will be painting the engine bay and dropping in a new built motor.

    8.5:1 compression.
    bored .20.
    Manley Pistons(forged).
    Scat Rods(forged).
    ARP all around.
    Magnafluxed.
    Clevite bearings.
    Line honed.
    block was decked.
    3 layer metal HG.
    crank balanced.

Running an older style Garrett turbo and old school square based TiAL external. Should do 700ish to the wheels when I get it tuned right.

As for what it is, it's a mystery! People will find out after winter.

That's great information, thanks. Would you mind giving me the NAPA number, I went online and couldn't find the right one.

    Regards.

I don't know it. I went into a NAPA with my old starter and they tossed me a new one.

    My list grows longer..

    - removed the from nose panel, repaired cracks and holes, rattle canned semi matte black
    - removed all three grills and had them powder coated satin black
    - orderd SRI fuel and coolant hoses for shop to install.
    - replaced tstat
    - have the window glass "U" trim to replace the old stuff - the felt has all worn away showing the crimped metal underneath...if you reach in through the window you get savaged by the crimps!
    - distributor points and seals to be done by the shop as well when they have time.

A few years ago the engine was pulled and rebuilt. At that time I dropped the entire suspension and then cleaned the engine bay and the entire underside. The suspension was rebuilt, powder-coated. A new stainless exhaust system was installed and I was good to go for a year. Next the interior was pulled the floor was blasted to metal the painted with por15 and New carpet installed. Stage 3 is now; the body was stripped of all trim in preparation for paint. The dash and most of the interior came out to have new vinyl applied. The color is being changed from the typical red... to a color I've NEVER seen on a FIAT dino but was available on a "Ferrari" Dino.

MANY photos of the other stages are here: https://picasaweb.google.com/118012022854485019359/FiatDinoSpiderRestore1968#

I have been using K&N's filter cleaner for cleaning all points on my motorcycle and cars for years now and more and more people are finding how great it cleans safely. You can find larger size bottles on eBay for a good deal. The rims (magnesium) on my bike get very dirty quickly and can't take most cleaners. Cleans carbon fiber safely too. K&N sprays on and hoses off with ease. I buy a few bottles and put the cleaner in a garden pump jug with an adjustable hose sprayer to get at everything. Good luck. Still looking for that white 512TR to put in my garage.

Winter's over. I made the call to pick up the car from the storage facility on Saturday. Time for a fluid change and a polish to get her ready for cars and coffee in April.

It's been beautiful here in eastern Ma. There's pretty much no salt or sand on the roads this year.
