Anyone catch the pre-race grid walk with Peter Windsor this AM? When they were at Michael's car, with Herr Weber lording over it (you know, just in case any last-minute repairs were needed!) the announcers mentioned that Weber guaranteed a Michael Schumacher victory in Malaysia. My guess is it was the night before, and it sounded something along the lines of "Ayye gghhh *hic* arun *hic* teeeeee Mah-chels whi- whi- *hic* whi-n 'morrow". Followed shortly by "Uh, sir? Can I call you a cab?"

What? He's just a slimy agent like the rest of them. Do you expect anything more?

kinda like a realtor telling you that if you want the house...you had better bring cash today as there are other offers on the way...

...60 days later, the house still sits for sale!

It was a good way to get himself and his driver in the press - and psychological warfare never hurt a driver (just made the agent look bad - as it did today).

Problem is, Weber is a hack at playing the media game and while he may be great as an agent and getting the big bucks, he pales in comparison to others with better PR skills.

I can't stand Weber. Whenever he makes an official statement you know it is a total lie only with the intent to spin something or help his own agenda.

He discoverd MS and helped him get started in F1 for which I'm thankful and he deserves credit. But since then it just went downhill. His worst dementis and lies where in 1999 after MS broke his leg.

But seriously! How lame is it that the best he can come up with is some dumb, cliche'd guarantee of victory. Guaranteeing wins began and ended with Joe Namath in Super Bowl III. Ever since then, not a week goes by without some mediocre half-witted athlete starved for attention "guarantees" his team will win a certain matchup. I don't know, maybe I should just let it go. It's just that WW is so hate-able!

Living in SoCal yourself, you should already know that there probably are several offers as soon as the listing goes up!

On topic, i believe WW could have worded his statement a bit differently. Instead of guaranteeing a victory, he could have just said MS was a top contender for the win.

Well, Bob Varsha said that Weber was quoted as guaranteeing a Michael Schumacher victory. I doubt he was implying that any sort of "moral" victory would suffice. Whatever.
