So what happens with team orders now?

These two questions are for this weekend.

Are they allowed but you just have to lie about them?

Can Renault help Red Bull because they use the same engines? If Renault can't win it, it is good for Renault if RBR wins it.

This one is for next year.

Can Alonso make Massa give up a position in the first race of the season because he is the better driver and has the best chance to win the WDC?

If the teams have got any sense they will continue to let there drivers race, till one is ruled out chasing down the WDC, and then one can help the other, as a rolling road block you name it... balls to it.

I see no sense favouring one driver over another from the off, it could all go tits up for them, and then you have all your eggs smashed in that basket..IMO that is.

The FIA's decision paves the road to axe the team orders ban.

Now the teams are in a very delicate spot. The only thing the FIA has told them is that if you use team orders you had better be prepared to lie about it to the WMSC.

McLaren and Red Bull will not do that, they are English... :)

It is not fair for the title fight to have two sets of rules, one for Ferrari and another for everyone else.

Like some of you mentioned...that rule ain't worth a Peso in Canada...all you have to do is put on your poker face and make them prove you are B.S'ing

Next year they will sh*t-can the rule...hopefully alongside some other preposterous regulations as well!

Team principals take both drivers to a private sauna (no recording devices) and tell them the rules of engagement on the track. Explain termination provisions for variance (I'm sure there is enough gray in the contract). Wait for governing bodies to pull their heads out.
