So which is better?

I wear glasses. I prefer the Open Face for that reason.

But, the closed face has more protection expecially for the chin etc. So, i decided on the safety and went with the closed face.

 

I use both depending the type of event. If you just do track event on the leisure side, an open face is WAY more comfortable and you will hear what your instructor ( me) will tell you hahaha!
Full face is better ( safer) if you're a hardcore racer or week end warrior during our track event.
I have driven protypes with open face because the heat is to much .In the LM , I use only an open face because I want to show my "good look"..

Shoei and others make 'convertibles' where the chin can be raised up to 'open' the helmet. I loved the one I had for hot motorcycling days.

I did some skidding on my face after bottoming the frame on my motorcylcle. I became a believer in full face, even while driving a car, especially when you have a beak like mine.
