http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/76051?from=36hr_outlet_business Well, the summer heatwave broke. The site for our all-Italian show scheduled for Sept. 9th received 1/2 inch of rain on Monday helping green it even further. And the temperatures for ICF look to be in line with historic averages which means mostly in the 70s & 80s. If you have not yet entered, it is not too late. Go to italiancarfest.com for the form and please send it in TODAY. -Jerry Lee Phillips 817 521-4400
Well, it looks like it definitely will be cooler. And the grass is getting greener. Applications are still rolling in. Thanks everyone! Looks like we are on pace for over 150 cars.
Here is an interesting entry for '06. From Sioux Falls, South Dakota a yellow '71 Intermeccanica Indra 2+2. The owner states it is the 'last vehicle built'. Intermeccanica has a curious and exciting history with much of the story centered here in DFW! We have had 2 other Intermeccanicas at ICF in previous years. It will be a thrill to see this fine car.
Hmm, I think that's what the owner of the red one that showed up to ICF a couple of years ago was saying as well.
My entry will be in early next week! By the way, here is a pic taken last year of my son and my car.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Scheduled to attend: Intermeccanica Indra and Alfa 6C 1750 GS Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is the Miura going to come this year? I know it was supposed to last year, but couldn't make it. Sure would like to see one of those.
Another obligation prevents us from participating. However, we will be in the Fort Worth area for part of the weekend and will try to come by for a look. John
I'll be there. Sans mondial. How frustrating has this search (for a mondial-t) been! But its soooo close. I can taste it!!! Ah well, another year as spectator. See you there.
All Mondial guys and anyone interested - if possible let's meet in the Ferrari area at the Mondials about 12:00 on Saturday for lunch? I will be big, ugly and wearing a cap of some kind. My car will be a black 3.2 coupe, and at noon will open the bonnet to show the carbs.
Isn't the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday morning ?? - could the ICF open up a sports bar at the Gaylord early for a group watch????
C'mon Russ, you're not that big! You should have your bonnet open the whole time, not often the general public (or anybody else!) see's a carbed Mondial.
I got the 330 back from Norwood's last Sat and have been putting the interior stuff back in....just need to replace the door weatherstripping and clean up body and wheels. If it's raining any more than a slight amount this Sat I'll be a no-show...that will be a big disappointment but it's standard policy with me. My car spent most of the summer at Norwood's because of the instrument rebuild downtime, and I came in several saturdays and did a little interior restoration and other minor jobs. Thanks to James and Co. for their exacting attention and a very enjoyable time!
The ICF regular and extended registration periods are over. Saturday's Show will be the biggest yet. Probably due to the fantastic change in the weather, we have had several questions about whether we will be allowing on-site entries on Saturday morning. With our new location, we have plenty of room for more entries and will be able to arrange them properly - so come on out! However, since we need to get day-of-show entries registered, properly classed and on the field in a good location, please be at the show field by 8:00 - no later. Because we feel this is THE year to be at ICF, we have decided to keep the premium for day-of-show registration to a minimum. Saturday on-site registration will be only $75. You will get to participate fully in the judging and enjoy the benefits of the hospitality lounge aboard the Lonestar Lady. We would like to thank everyone for their interest and support! -Jerry Lee Phillips Pres. - Italian Car Club of the Southwest, a 501 C 4 non-profit 817 521-4400
