I drug myself out of bed at 4:45AM this morning to watch the race. During last few laps I started to fade off, but kept up to see the finish, but after that, I just went back to bed. Who else got up early to watch it, and who went the easy route and watched when it re-aired?

I am always up very early to watch the races (but it's an everyday thing anyway). I was watching live timing practice 1 on Friday at 2 am local time (I'm in Texas). Will do the same for practice Friday and race Sunday (will miss qualifying due to horse show). Guess you might say it's part of my training for when we go to LeMans in June! (afterall, it's a 24 hour race and for 400 GPB for two seats in T19 I'm for getting my money's worth of viewing).

I was up before sunrise for each session. It sort of got easier after Friday Practice ("the first shift").

Call me an F1 nutcase, I won't mind...

But most of the time I stay in bed and watch it then go right back to bed once its done.

I hate watching anything type of sporting event if it is not live, takes away the element of supprise and suspence. But believe me it isn't easy getting up so early after a night out. And here (Montreal) I have to wake up an hour earlier than when I am at home (Moncton aka Atlantic Time).

yeah, i thinking about how easy it would be to just stay in bed and watch it later, but watching it live is SO much better. I could have just gone on the internet and seen the results anyway. I am very glad i watched it live though.

Race started at 10,30pm here :) but yes I wake up at 4am(or more like I dont bother going to sleep) for the North American races, soo in the end no matter what part of the world you are in, we all have to suffer eventually.

Us west coast'ers have it the worst consistently. I was up before 3 AM and went back to bed around 5:45 after the race ended. Talk about interrupted sleep pattern. All of the European races are similar, except everything shifts an hour later. Hopefully this season tourns out well and makes it worth those lost hours of sleep.

Set my alarm for 6pm instead of 6am by mistake...so missed the live action but watched the replay on Speed at 12:30.

Hardest part was avoiding any sort of indication of who won (including ferrarichat) before I watched the replay!

I watch most of the GPs on TiVo. Nice to watch on my schedule, skip the inane commercials and replay certain incidents. Occasionally, I do watch them live. The big advantages are the commentary and live timing from Formula1.com.

I would be one of those. Went to bed around 10:30 or 11:00. I got up at 2:50am, but for some reason I did'nt get down stairs 'til 3:10. Reversed the TIVO back the 10 minutes and caught up by the 3rd set of commercials. Kicked on the laptop for the Formula1.com live timing and F-chat to see who else wuz up. Went back to bed around 5:30 or so. woke back up @ 9. I wuz dozen all day long, but what the hay, IT WAS WORTH IT! The wife watched it later in the evening. She is a Klien fan.

The race aired at 3am, Alaska time. Because of that I waited until it was over and got up at about 6:30am. Still ended up going back to bed afterwards.

The 6am races are never a problem for me, but 5am was just too much. I set the alarm, turned on the TV and fell back to sleep. Caught the replay at 11:30.
