Wow! What I wouldn't give for a nice Devek stroker I make do with an '83 euro & a '93 Carrera 4 for comfort.
Thanks, David_S...I must say is a blast to drive! In many ways, this is a poor man's 550/575 ;-). -- Rick --
Here's our '00 Boxster S - 61,000+ miles. Its the "road tripper" now - the 380SL is resting!! Cheers Kevin Image Unavailable, Please Login
6.5 litre recipe: Bore out block to accept 104.5mm pistons. Add forged stroker crank w/ Carillo rods. Sprinkle on headers and dual 3" exhaust system. Stir well and bake. Dynojet says 400 rwhp / 455 rwtq (with 400+ rwtq from 2800-5200 rpm). I've put ~22K miles on this engine in ~2.5 years. Very tractible and easy to drive (great long distance cruiser), yet puts it on the ground when you ask (surprises a lot of folks - trust me). Another guy has 160K+ miles on his and still running strong! And others have bolted on superchargers and are running around with 525 rwhp!!! -- Rick --
This is my GTS withchip to up power slightly to 380bhp, 5 speed transforms the car, really outstanding ownership experience, the most reliable car I have ever owned and in day to day driving has towering performance, I cant speak highly enough about the 928, owned three of them over the last 12 years, I have just sold this one to make way for my bb512i but I miss it
Steve, Wow, great example of a 928GTS! Also like your other P-car, the Pantera!! You have/had some really nice automobiles. -- Rick --
Heres my friends 944. it kinda feels like its mine because im always working on it, nothing but problems problems problems. Image Unavailable, Please Login
How much are these 928S's?? I'm sure the 6.5L engine is a five-figure proposition, but it does sound AWESOME.
Andy, A 928GTS 5-speed like Steve's with a 6.5 litre engine recently sold for $60K. A 928GTS 5-speed, all stock will sell for $30K - $50K depending on condition/care. The 6.5 litre engine could be awywhere from $20K-$30K (or more) depending on components selected and how exotic you want to go (e.g., titanium rods, custom cams, MOTEC, etc.). That'd get you 500+ crank hp. At least... -- Rick --
It must be a great car in its own right, because there are few cars that people are willing to spend more money modifying than the value of the car itself. Usually only when someone really LOVES a car and plans to keep it a long time will they do that. Enjoy it!

Wow, pardon me for asking, but is that a real RS? I'd love to see/ride in/drive one of those cars! Just found this topic for the first time as it was bumped up...and all I can say about those 6.5 liter 928s...holy cr@p! Thanks for the pictures. Are there any websites or forums for those beasts? Any videos or sound clips of that 6.5 Liter engine in action?
My sister has an authentic VIN # 87 Ruf BTR Slant. It is 1 of 4 made and was the first non-grey mkt car imported to the states. Ruf's US emissions test was done on this car. It dyno's about 450 hp and is NASTY!!!
McLaren_boy: Go to www.devek.net for vendor info and www.rennlist.org for various p-car forums including 928. Sorry no sound clips...rest assured with 11.5:1 compression, headers and Borla exhaust it sounds quite righteous!
