I will be interested to read the responses. It is my understanding that allocations for North American dealers have not been made. Accordingly, it is all blue sky at this point...

is this true about allocations not having been made yet? the one dealership my brother has spoken seemed to indicate their cars are spoken for..

also... is it true that a potential F430 Scuderia customer has no realistic shot at one, unless he/she has previously purchased a new Ferrari?

On question #2, I think it's fair to say you will likely have to be a multiple new ferrari buyer at the same dealer to get on the list for the Scud, based on past habits of the dealer body.

so... i guess the only way to get ready for the "next" F430 Scuderia is to buy an F430 now... : )

There are plenty of F430 owners, even those who have owned multiple new cars ordered through the dealership who won't get the opportunity to purchase a Scuderia. There simply are more of us, than cars that will be built.

No. I am European buyer, purchased my Scuderia in Germany, I have mentioned it in all post about my Scuderia order. So I am not from North America, but I am on the list for Scuderia, that is true. Best.

Got confirmed last month for the allocation of my Scud, October 08 delivery. BTW, our (Lebanon) final allocation includes 5 Scuderias for 2008. Pretty good for my small country !

Quite true. One variable seems to be the dealer and its geographic location. Certain dealers with a higher concentration of well heeled past customers (dense metro areas) will have literally hundreds of potential buyers and very few cars. On the other hand, there will be certain areas were the opposite is the case; "rural" market areas. (It's the same analogy of the smaller F market country -- Lebanon-- versus the larger F market country, 'merica). While I do not believe there is a single F dealer in the U.S. that will be even close to having a Scud available for an off the street customer, there a places where a one or two time F buyer WITH A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH THE DEALER will stand a better chance of getting a car than a 3 or 4 time buyer elsewhere (Moreso if that guy is a jerk :)). However, mitigating my whole analysis is the fact the smaller dealers will have lower allocations. The concept is still vaild, notwithstanding this fact.

So, you say, why not simply find a smaller market F dealer and buy the Scud there? Can't; you are outside of that dealers area for a new car sale. As you all may be aware, Ferrari dealers are not permitted to sell new cars outside of their area to a customer who is served by a different dealer. I believe this area is 100 miles. I have bumped up against this problem several times.

I hesitated for too long. Called last month, told 'Because it is you, I will try my best, but I cannot gurantee anything' SO will have to wait for someone to 'fall out' or 'back' their car, even then, dependant on what stage of the order I get, I may not be able to spec, and ofcourse I have no clue when I may get it, if I get it. That is England/Europe

This means that there will be NO replacement of the F430 range in 2008. This is very good for us as for future 430 Scuderia owners. But still F430 replacement launch is very near future, 2009 is not so far and time is running very fast. But at least we have more time to enjoy our Scuderias as latest addition to Ferrari model range. Best.

I have heard that UK is getting only 160 Scuderia allocations, German market will get only 120 units. This means too much customers and too limited supply. Best.
