I know some Lamborghini folks who are. I think Carmine is going up for the day. I just got call from another Canadian who owns a Ghibli Cup car who was there last year and he's coming back. I'm committed to bring my Espada but I'll be hanging out in the Maserati section as well. Bob S.
I will be there Saturday, the Canadian Ghibli Cup car was neat to see http://www.flickr.com/photos/photosbyjohnwiley/5874845969/in/set-72157627058263724/
I'm planning to make it on Saturday. I'll look for the guy wearing a straw hat and driving an Espada.
Great show, fun to see the variety of Italian cars on display. My pictures are up at http://www.flickr.com/photos/photosbyjohnwiley/sets/72157630375492168/
That's the reason I have avoided last couple of years. It is now called La Belle Macchina d'Europa. It has been compromised by Bentleys, Jaguars, Nissans (not that Nissans are even Europa), etc etc. UGH
Have to pay the freight Walter ... Just like Concourso Italiano, they have everything now. Hey we even had some Fiskers there for demo rides. Nicely finished but for an old car guy like me it's just a bit too weird. The aural experience is the very antithesis of Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa. It needs a sound track ... It does actually have external speakers on the back too because it's too damn quiet!
Thank you, but yes McLaren and Fisker were there as sponsors. Having gotten a chance to drive the McLaren before the show, I will not object to them being there. Also, it is still called Le Belle Macchine d'Italia http://www.italiancarevents.com/
Perhaps someone else has some? There was one Ghibli coupe, one Quattroporte III and a 96 Ghibli Cup car. The same one as last year. Everything else was modern. It was not a year for vintage Maserati's. I never saw Carmine. I do have some photos in the Lamborghini section.
You missed some great cars (nothing vintage Maserati), some fun folks and a lot of free drinks. That'll learn yah ... Next time right.
Ouuch this hurts my ears like a classic italian pure bread fitted with a horrible non original muffler making it sound like a tractor... Whoever came up with the title got it all wrong its a mismatch of wrong French and Italian. It should b called La macchina bella d'Europa period!!!!!
Proper Italian grammar places buona and bella before the noun it modifies. Most adjectives follow the noun but not these. belle macchine is correct.
Just a FYI, it was professionally translated by an Italian who does it for a living and the major Italian manufacturers have dealt with the event for many years. But I guess they should "fix" it? Have you attended the event before?
Nope but I'd love to... Especially if they keep it at Italian pure breads and not British inbreads...lol (Kidding) Usually I attend the shows in Europe, especially the ones in Italia...
That's disappointing. When did they do that? That certainly lowers my incentive to go again. I've always thought it should be "La Bella Macchina" since are cars are most certainly female. But maybe that's my French education bias. My Dad's no help, as his written Italian suddenly went out of practice a few years after WWII.
