How much did you pay for the C vs the TR?

The 308 HAS Boxer styling (like the TR-348 relationship).

And yes, the 348 sits in the middle of the model’s surrounding it pricing wise, like the TR….the styling is a big part of that IMO

No, unless you are talking about a pristine low mile TR vs a run down 550, the 550 is more expensive now.

Great example from an owner of both that goes to the Mayor’s post about the lack of excitement versus the Countach and GT like car feel.

In person it's night and day in all respects.

The 288 looks more like a 308 than the BB does

The 348 hasn't moved in the F hierarchy. It's moving with the market.
If you think the TR's design is bad what's a good design?

    What's the highest result for a 550?

    top 550 - £276,796
    top TR - £279,805

    3,083 550's made.

    Isn’t the 288 a 308 with a body kit? So agree there

The 348 will always lag the 328 and 355…..and suspect it will always be the cheapest V8.

Good Ferrari designs? Many of them….but relevant to this conversation, the Boxer is a good mid engine V12 design, and my favorite modern design is the F50.

Interesting, but irrelevant to 99.99% of us. More relevant?

On Autotrader, six 550s listed (plus 1 Barchetta, but I'll leave that out)
    4 exceed $250k
1 is $209k (with an accident)
    1 is $149k with 50k miles

In general, TR pricing is WAY less than this, so NOT same

Yep, US. Just like the 512TR delta.

In the end one can find any data to back anything. Just need to limit it to a certain time frame, location, etc.

Let me add that they jumped in Europe also but they're not more than the TR's.

    BTW - TR's on Autotrader are 150-300k

But 12 of 20 (60%) have asks less than $180k
Only 1 (4,000 mile car) with an ask of higher than $220k

Whereas 66% of 550s have asks of $250k+

It is clear that the average 550 price has exceeded the average TR price....by quite alot

BTW, and I'm sure this is a mistake, under your "cars wanted" tab, a Countach is listed.....you best correct that :)

You wanted to compare the best with the best, so I quoted the top sale prices.
Now you're compartmentalizing the data to fit your preferred outcome.
I can quote you stats from one particular country to back whatever I want.

    Countach - LP400. EB110. Gandini designs.

But my "criticism" of the Countach stands, whether it's 100k or 1mil.
TR at 100k and LP400 at 200k, great. But as things stand, not even close, unless money's no object.

Bang on the TR all you want. The quality trumps Lambo, and for an F/Pinin design, it's quite atypical.
For current money, nothing injected comes close. IMO of course.

    btw, 512M - $700k on AutoT

Must be the cheesy TR styling :)

You can like what you want, and you backed it up with real money so props there.

Myself and others have just been providing some context why this market moves slower than competitors and other Ferraris...whether you believe it or not is up to you.

    Good luck to you

Not much. The TR ran, needed a major service and was $20k. (Global Financial Crisis + Dubai market in 2008).

The Countach was a 4 litre low body with under 1000 km on it so no comparison. Still, Dubai pricing was very attractive at the time. Nobody wanted it as it was just an old car.

"The July 2023 service invoice notes an oil leak inside the clutch bell housing."

Not sure, but this may require an engine out service, doesn't it? Difficult to get there even with the exhaust out.

Adding some TLC I'd say +20k to make it fully drivable ... (fuel pumps, fans, injectors, diff ...).

    Bonus is the documentation.

Pretty much in line with the market I'd say.

Like I said, we all know there's data to back pretty much any pov. If the TR ends up at 50k or 500k, one thing is certain, everyone will know why.

Niki is always top end price wise.

The cars are in good shape however. They've got a great team in the workshop. A visit is highly recommended!

You don't know Europe. If they don't sell at that price, the asking price will increase.

    The Italian negotiation:

    Seller: I want 100k

    Buyer: I offer 80k

    Seller: Just for you, 120k

    Buyer: 90k

    Seller: 110k

    Buyer: 100k

Seller: Sold Amer .... I mean, Ecco, you make an offer I can accept.

Buyer: You're a very reasonable man.

listen, I’m not 20 - I know how the world works, including Europe. You can scream and yell up and down that these cars are climbing … the facts haven’t changed. This car is and has been a dog in the exotic car market since the end of production. A few nice examples selling at strong prices are anomalies, the reverse is also true. You can cheerlead it all you want, but the new money ( people 40 and under ) are not interested in this car or the bb , or the 308 or
or the 328 or the 348. The sooner you accept reality the better off you are. If you are looking for an investment , buy an energy stock. If you are looking for the best bang for your buck in a 12 banger, the TR is the cheapest 2 seater to buy in any exotic car line up, and for good reason ! We have 35yrs of market trend in this car already. The market is speaking. If the Testarossa ever gets to 500k the Countash will be 2m , the f40 will be 6m and a Dayton will be 2,5m.
