I think that mod list sounds great. Love the definition of *mild,* cause that's a freaking long list! I assume you meant price... The best part about their high production #'s and 'speed appliance' nature is that I then wouldn't feel bad modding one. Just have to get one first! Of course, with that setup you'd have the inverse of Jay's over-mentioned aerobics instructor analogy: the car and driver having far more ability than Maui's roads can handle.
Pretty amazing considering that an stock McLaren F1 does the 0-100mph jaunt in 6.7 seconds. And for the guy that posted that it wouldn't be easy to drive, the TechArt programs are reknowned for their ability to mod the car through the stratosphere while still having it feel like a stock 996TT when not in thermonuclear mode.
Like i said, take the Techart program out, and substitute the Evo program. 15K, all bolt ons, i can do myself and 700 daily driveable hp with Enzo and Mclaren F1 beating performance, in a quiet, daily driveable comfortable car. There is a chip for this car, that is 500.00 . It raises power 100hp. 100hp for 500.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats awesome. Im going to lighten mine, put in a rear bolt in roll cage, techart bumpers, carbon interior and LOTS OF POWER.
I am thinking of putting a turbo on my Hayabusa. That will make it a "little" quicker. The stock Hayabusa has run hi 9's with a professional rider. Mr. Turbo's shop is in town. My bike has 3K miles. BesiDES my wife will never know that a toy has been modded in the garage. No flak will come downrange. I need something that is fast. Also it may be fun to play tag it night on the freeway. Can you say outrun the radio. Pac Man
The only thing to fear is that you will never get the point that you are not wanted. BTW: There are 8 second Mustangs running around the streets today in the 145+ MPG in the 1/4 mile. So friggen what!
which chip would this be? cause i may be interested. btw: are you still considering a 996tt ( i read about that on the 6speedonline forum)
Ive always wondered if you ever worry about Nitrous messing up your engine. If i had a Lambo or a Ferrari or something id be to scared to use Nitrous. Id stick to Forced induction to be fast. But i mean if you have the money to fix it if it blows. i guees its no big deal
Love Porsches...they're a good hold against Ferrari, each tries to out do each other, each then making better and better cars. This is good for the economy (from a consumer's POV) and car enthusiasts alike. The tuning potential for the forced induction Porsches is collosal (sp?). I think I know of the GT2 that has been mentioned earlier in a post, within this thread, why keep it secret?...Spill the beans. There's nothing new to what R.K does with his GT2. Most of us know about it... In what way are you (AllanLambo) using Nitrous on your Lamborghini for? Is it being sprayed into the engine heads, or into the radiator to aid the cooling? If it is being put into the engine - rice style, then I'd rather shoehorn a Lamborghini 8 litre v12 from a class one off shore powerboat into the back of the car, much better than flaffing around with Nitrous injectors from the movies. Cheers,
Allan, why put all this time and money into a car that won't be faster than the one you already have...? Will this one have big SV stickers on the sides...? Just wondering...
If you think about it, its like spraying a 75 shot on a 6 cyl. Im not stressing anything at all. Guys in Japan are running 250shot direct port nitrous systems without a problem, and that is much harder on the drivetrain than my setup.
well, for under 10k i can get 750hp at the wheels of a volvo with no nos and drive it everyday, now who's is bigger? [/thread]
good point. How often do you use your setup, and also how much do the bottles cost to refill. I always wondered that.
and a porsche will always look like a bug, and a lambo will always look like a wedge of CHEESE lol Actually I have an old volvo p1800, looks nothing like a volvo. prolly kick the crud outta your lambo on paper. you know half the weight, that much hp... your car is probably too 'pretty' to drive fast anyway, i on the otherhand like to drive mine.
25-30.00 to refill the bottle. I used to use it all the time, but not lately in Maui. Havent found a place to fill the bottle.
I drive the crap outta mine, day in, day out. I wouldnt drive a Volvo, no matter how fast it was. As for beating the Lambo.... I doubt it...HIGHLY.
Aww Alan, don't like it when someone calls YOU out now do you? There are some of us that do appreciate other car marques, nobody here said that Ferrari is the end all be all and everyone should pack up and give in, that would be best left to children and my dad can kick your dad's ass schoolyard crap. You seem to be under the impression that we F-chatters feel that way so you troll for bullsh!t controversy whenever possible by posting 'you would not appreciate this' threads. Yeah and for the Volvo thing, well I am more than game, to race you on a nice track, never said I would win, but then again, I am out there to prove that. We all drive other cars, some hi performance some not, some of us are proud of being able to make something go faster. My 4 cylinders at 700+hp full tilt is still better than what it takes your car 8 more cylinders, twice as many valves per cylinder, almost double and a half the displacement, 1400lbs, and over a hundred thousand more dollars (used) more to do. To equal that, you would need to make 2100hp with just a single turbo to match a per cylinder hp test. More often than not we are annoyed by you, not your message. You make Mr Green look like a respectable human being.
Ahhh, got your panties ruffled? Id love for you to post some real legitimate prrof that your volva makes 700hp. I doubt that it does.
Waiting on some new block sundries, but I am going to have to flat out dyno it at Stillen again. My best there was 580 on another head and smaller turbo, their dyno is notoriuosly off. My current version was 857 at the flywheel, after gearing it was ~650hp at the wheels when the m40 grenaded about 500rpm before the peak. Most of my build up was guided by Magnus Johansson, look him up. His Volvo b234ft build is now over 1000hp at the wheels off a Getrag tranny. His knowledgebase is the Volvo 'tractor-pulling' bible. Many guys get far more hp than I do, I like having enough for dtreet use, because I dio not want to put in a rollcage. I am sure it is all heresay until a third party takes the car, videotapes the dyno session, until then I doubt scans of the dyno sheets would even satisfy you.
