Yep, it is that time again fellow 348/355 Brothers! My house - Rolling Hills Estates September 14th or 21st - unless vetoed by the wife Theme - dent guy, whatever maintenance you want to do, possible wheel guy Check with Bruce for maintenance parts before you buy anything - he might have some extras lying around. I think I may have an extra oil filter too. Some ideas for maintenance: 1. Fluids 2. Brake lines - stainless upgrade 3. Clutch replacement - easier than you think 4. Throw out bearing - again easier than you think 5. Window switching - in the door upgrade 6. Exhaust system installation 7. Interior and exterior detailing 8. Any other light maintenance item you want to address - as in "the engine stays in the car" Check your calendars and let me know who's coming so I can plan food accordingly. Vince
Knock on wood, I dont need any maintenance now but would like to watch and help if I can. It would also be a lot of fun meeting other Ferrari owners. Count me in too. Mel
Attention Brothers, The date is confirmed for Saturday the 21st according to the wife. Let me know who is coming - feel free to bring guests. Also, let's organize the work and make sure everyone has access to the parts/fluids/tools etc. that we all might need. I have a modest set of tools, but please bring extras and make sure that you can ID your stuff later, after a few cold ones. I always seem to end up with less of my own and more of other's tools after these events. I have 2 jacks but more is better. Also have 4 stands and 2 ramps, again more is better. We have a pool and it is warmed. Cheers
Love to go but will you have the USC game on? I could use the oil filter. I was about to order one to attempt my first oil change on my 355. Ordering some Royal Purple. Would like to do the brake fluid as well. Willing to make my 355 a project car for fluid changes for the day. Peter
Come all, Merc's okay. I'll check on the oil filter for Trojan. As for fluids and brakes, bring em on. I have a pressurized bleeder that makes short work of brakes and clutches. Just bring enough fluids. My neighbor is a die hard Trojan fan. Me, not so much. I can put the game on but not in the garage. Yet. Maybe. Hey, Mike did you see the recent Top Gear episode where they called the Mondial the worst car in the world because Ferrari should have known better than to make it? Kind of harsh. They didn't even consider the 400i autobox.
Count me in. May want to bring a buddy that tinkers around with old (50's & 60's) Rolls. Trying to get him to upgrade. Need to know what I can bring. Beer?
For all following this thread... Beer is not a must bring item but you will have the blessings of the gods, not to mention the Stooges, if you bring some. Becks and Heineken are appreciated. So is Pilsner Urquel. All are welcome. The menu, BTW is now set at chicken and carne asada fajitas and wings. Bring your own Pepto cuz I'm making them hot. Special shout out to FBB - dude, wings, for you, you missed the last set and they were my best. Don't miss these. Also, I need your special help on the grills. Really. Oh, and bring your tin foil hat. Gothspeed - hey buddy, you know the table we set, so if you are at all hungry, you better show up for some grub. Also whatever project yor are working on. Ernie might even be in town - hide the guac! Flat PAP is already in my garage watching over the SS. It would be nice to have the real thing though. We are definitely going to be discussing how to hot rod your cars and get more performance out of them. This is a great chance to see what the Stooges have done, what worked, what didn't and get your car up to speed, so to speak.
Oh no, what Am I doing in Spain? flamenco & toros vs Ferrari picnics... No way. I need to move to SoCal soon.
