    It's hard to get serious about this whole thing, but here goes. After 10,000 hits on the auction site, local paper and talk show stuff, ABC News may want to cover the 'hose' showing. It will be held at Albersons' market Starbucks from 10 to 11 in Westlake Village on Saturday.

    The intent is to meet, greet, swap lies, then head over Decker to PCH and the phone pole. Stop for a moment of silence and proceed to Neptune's Net for a no host lunch.

    Wanna have your car on TV and take a run to the beach? I think they will come out of we get at least half a dozen F-cars. Post here if you can come, and thanks for letting me crash (?) your party.

    PS. I only have a Porsche, so if someone has an extra Modena.....

    Completed on 11 November, 1959, S/N 1555 GT was nero tropicale with a beige interior; destination: America.

    On 1 June, 1960, Competition Motor Sales of Hollywood, CA bought the car... It was ruby with a black interior, drum brakes and considered "old stock" when it was purchased from Competition Motor Distributors, Inc. (by Competition Motor Sales)...

    In 1973, Ed Niles was selling the engine of S/N 1555 GT. It was listed as having overdrive, complete and running...

    It was listed in the FOCUK Volume 8 Number 1 by Allen Bishop as still being an inside-plug...

    That's all we know... Can you flesh out some of the history...? When you bought it, when you sold it, mileage, color, etcetera...?

    Bought the car for $2500 6/69. Repainted to 'real' red at that time. Traded it for a new Mercedes from Auto Steigler 10/70. Some bozo took it for a spin and blew a head gasket. Car sat there for over a year having engine rebuilt when the mechanics could get to it. Only reason I know that is from taking the MBZ in for service and seeing it there.

    Got $3k in trade :). We had our second child coming and needed a more serious car. That same year I turned down a real 'D' type for $6000 (same as the new Mercedes).

    Oh the times, they are a changin'...
