    Hey all,

I need the geometry for the prancing Ferrari horse to engrave some parts:

    1. If anyone has a CAD file of this to share would be great :)

    2. Any software out there that creates geometry (lines/arcs) from bitmap or pdf files yet?

    Thanks,

    Sean

coreldrawx3 can convert from bit map to vector, results vary upon the original image.

I just upgraded my CAD software which can supposedly read ACAD files directly . .. thing is I've not loaded it yet . .. if you get a chance can you send me a DXF or IGES (de ja vu again ;)) . .. if you're busy no worries I need to load that software . . if it's one click though appreciate it!!!

    thanks again!!!!

I also have drawn it in CADD 2004 and can send a pdf or dxf to you if needed. I used it for a large stucco relief in my garage.

Or try this little program - it will work as a plug in to Illustrator or as a standalone app. Works for Windows and Mac and will make a vector to export to cad etc from almost anything.

anything stand alone for Windows? . . that software needs Adobe Illustrator or is stand alone for Mac . . . what's Illustrator do?

actually I do know someone who has a Mac who might load it for me and convert these engine cross section files I scanned or is there anybody out there that could do it for me? . . just 2 files . . for now :)

    thanks,

    Sean

You're right it only works as a plug in for windows so you'll need Illustrator to start with. illustrator is an adobe graphics program - similar to corel draw I think. Sorry, you'll need access to a mac
but if you email me the engine sections or whatever you want to convert I'd be happy to do it for you and send them back in whatever format you want. I'm no expert with any of these programs but I can certainly handle this. Typhoon here this w/e so i'm house bound in any case.

Could probably do it for you Sean.

More a 3D guy than 2D but have both photoshop and illustrator. If that plug in will allow it to do the conversion then it shouldn't be a prob to knock over a couple of files.
PM me if you still need them done.

Here's a copy of the scanned logo in .png format. I have it in CAD or jpeg format but they're too big to post here so if you want them pm me and I'll send them over.
Did you want the "Ferrari" writing too or just the prancing horse?

Not sure if I'm infringing any copyrights here........

    Cheers
