I just sold my 2002 spider back to my dealer. I'm getting ready for the 420 (or whatever name it will be called). I drove it 2 years and sold it back for more than MSRP. I feel fortunate that I can drive a car for 2 years and not lose money. I may have been premature in selling so soon. But I am building a new house and probably won't be driving the car much. Also, I'm on good terms with my dealer and can bypass the dreaded "wait list". The car was perfect in every sense. Other than a dead battery, the car had zero problems. It was an F1 and shifted seamlessly. I'm looking forward to the 420.

Love the math on this one. :) How many miles did it have on it?

Any dealer would, as long as they've got a buyer waiting, because all they are interested in is the bid-ask spread. Prices for the 360 Spider are still way over list, partially because there is a long list of buyers willing to fork out money for pristine, slightly used, 360 Spiders, as opposed to waiting for two years to get a new one.

I'll take one for $10K over list and sell it for $30K over list all day long. :)

I did the same thing with my 2002. 7500 mile and back to the same dealer.

Right, and you can do the same with the 420(or whatever it's called), drive it for 2 yrs, sell back for more, dealer still makes few quick 10G's by selling to another buyer who just can't wait...

Great math, it seems that once a person is "in", one can own a new Ferrari for free!!
