Will- You asked about the simracing.. I've attached some screens from our last week's battle.. 14 cars, USGP.. I've attached the start, a Toyota getting it wrong at T1, a Super Best Friends chasing a MF1, my celebratory 6th place doughtnuts, and the resulting engine damage.. We use rFactor (www.rfactorcentral.com) and race with the USF1 league (www.usf1racing.net/forums Todd Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
How does R factor work as far as multiplayer? Is there some monthly charge or do you just find a server to run on? Downloading demo now.
Just played the demo...nice! Please tell me there is a 348 mod somewhere so I can get my fix on rainy days
Multiplayer is totally free, aside from whatever your monthly internet fees are.. My current favorite mod is the Porsche Cup mod.. The iDt Volkswagon Beetle mod is a blast too.. There's a shifterkart mod, F1 mod, tons of mods.. That's the beauty of rFactor, it's built to be modded. There is a champcar mod coming out soon that should replace my current favorites.. The link I posted in the first of this thread for rfactorcentral is the epicenter for most rfactor info. Racesim central is another good forum. Todd
Oh man I am sooo all over this. I'll be paying/downloading it this weekend. Sean...it is Rfactor...click on TT's 1st link above. The demo is fun. The full game should be awesome. -Mike
The core game is rFactor.. www.rfactor.net Visit www.rfactorcentral.com for all of the mods available. The screenshots are from a racing league I have been a part of for nearly 4 years. We began using the EA sports F1 series, finishing with the F1 Challenge version last year, and moving to rFactor. The multiplayer aspect is where rFactor shines. On a solid connection, EA F1C could hold 10-12 at best. With rFactor, we race with 14+ people without any hint of lag, and there are other groups who race with upwards of 20+. The mod we use for our Formula 1 league is the F1 Champions v1.05 found here- http://www.rfactorcentral.com/bigpics/f1champ_Hawker3.jpg The McLaren F1 challenge is also a blast to drive, especially with the server set to go from day to night at a track like Lemans, etc.. http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=McLaren%20F1%20Challenge Awesome video here- http://www.rfactorcentral.net/videos/go.php?Mills_Mclaren_150606.wmv Make sure to turn up your speakers to get the full effect.. Currently use the fabled red Momo Force from Logitech.. Looking at stepping up to a set of ECCI pedal for them.. I'm getting a little brake drag and it's from the pots in the pedal box acting up.. And instead of tearing them down and cleaning them, I think I'll go with the best pedals out there. Here's my current cockpit- Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's the pedal set I will be stepping up to. They are able to plug right into the existing wiring of my Momo.. Should be a night and day difference.. Todd Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool. I wonder how realistic it is. I mean, when you race at Indy, and you are running Michellins, does it only let you drive the formation lap and then it auto-pits? /end jab. =)
I downloaded the demo, and it won't work. It goes through the introduction, and then just sticks on the logo display screen. Any idea what would cause this?
Ok, so I went ahead and bought the full version. It keeps hanging up in every window. It's not a question my comp's capabilities, as they are right inline with the games recommended settings. Typing in my name was even painfully slow. So much so, to the point that it just came out as "n". Anyone? Anyone?
