    Hi gang,
Probably somebody had a thread on this before,I did not check it out,but here is my solution for a good, confortable driving in my 308qv(I am 2 meters tall, don't know how much this is in foot or inch's).
I explain:I have made a piece of aluminium(billet)that brings the steering wheel 8cm closer to the body, but also higher, because the colunm is not horizontal(logic, not?)
Even with the big Mondial wheel,it is A WORLD of difference,it's like comin' out of a Mini, and going into a BMW 7-series...It feels instanly right, and it looks pretty "race" too...
In fact,Norwood and some others have these also, but only 10-20 millimeters, mine is 80 millimeters. It really changes the feeling with the car, without it,I can drive it,but I always had to "search" for the right drive-position...Not when it's on the car!
Now I can keep my original (Mondial) wheel, before it was impossible to drive the car with the Mondial wheel,I had to put a small wheel in it,but still didn't feel right immediatly...That's history now.
BTW how tall was Magnum anyway?
Hey yes,he could stick his head out of the car,me not,it a GTB...
Who saw him drive the car with the roof in place,or better:stored behind the seats....??

I thought about it,and finally I left it "natural"...
Ofcourse the plans are still availeble, and others(in all dimensions and lenghts) can/will be made, natural or anodized...
    Birdman,on your eternal question:no,I don't have fuseblocks (yet),but I will get a pair soon!
Sammy, any machine shop can make these(CNC),it is just a matter of finishing touch(your name on or trough the metal, anodize or not,if you want holes in it,polished or not etc...)Mine is made from T-6 aluminium and cost of mine is about 280$...
Not cheap, but top-quality product and a world of difference....
Next step is the seat,I'm busy on a seat,form-made to my voluminous hips....
And after that,I'm planning to do something about the pedal-work.If you all take a close look to your pedals, you will notice that there is a lot of space "lost" behind them. That space could, and will,be used on my 308 one day...In Europe we say:an Italian car of the '70 or '80s is made around the test driver, and they usually mesure 1.50 meter with the hands up in the air.....LOL(but true if you take a look to the interior or seats of a Lambo Countach....BTW,I had one in 2000,and I took the seat out to test-drive it...
Pic's about the seat are coming in a cople of weeks!

A steering wheel spacer is already made by Hills which should mean Ricambi have them - maybe not 8 cm though

very nice, Im 6'6" as well, and it is a challenge to drive my dads 308, but just the fact of be able to drive it, ill still do whatever it takes to fit! :) My big problem is my feet. I have to large of shoes, so i cant wear any when driving it. Maybe its time for some Pilotis?

I only needed a 1" spacer on my GTB. I'm 6'4" and 250 # and have about 1" clearance to the roof. No problem driving. I do slouch but it is comfortable for me.

    That's the next item:the seat!!
You can win some space by putting another, lower seat in the car,and that's what I am doing this time....you could also lower your floorpan some centimeters by rewelding it lower, but that's not a simple job...
1:Ever noticed that by loosing some weight, you get more space in a car?
I don't know for you,but me,I am a little bit voluminous, and losing some weight would be a benefit....
2:Shoes and carpets:put the lowest and smallest possible shoes on your feet!Combat shoes or moonboots won't help!Carpets:do NOT put 3-4 carpets or protective devices in your car.Leave the original one,and that's it,or take the original out and replace it by a protective after-market one...
Inches are hard to find in a 308/328,but keep looking, and you will find them!
BTW I once had the occasion to sit in a Lambo Jalpa, what a difference if you compare it to a 308/328!!
If a put the seat fully behind,I am to far away from the pedals!!!
Even have space for a safety helmet..
Should be a nice summer-daily driver...

I've never driven a Ferrari, or even sat inside one that's moving, but I did sit in a 308 not long ago, and I simply don't know how you guys do it. I'm 6' 4", 215 lbs., by no means "big" and I felt like I had to fold up like a jackknife just to get in! Getting out was like pulling a pot roast out of a can of Pringles.

The 8cm spacer looks cool, though. Can you still reach the turn signals with your hand on the wheel?

    HAHAHA!!That's funny!!
    Hi Neil,
If you never drove a Ferrari, that's really really bad news....don't arguewith me,and get one today!
Getting in and out is a matter of routine....I admit that if I am used to get in/out of my Mercedes or Lancia Thema 8.32,or my wife's Audi cabriolet,it a little bit "strange" if you go back to the 308....but,as I said,it's a question of habitude:eek:nce you can drive a bicycle, you will never forget it...
I'll try to post sometimes a video of me going in and out of my 308.
Turning signals....??Who needs them when you go full throttle?LOL
BTW Forget the Pringels, and get the Smarties, they are much easier....

I have not done this yet, but I am very excited about it!.... I just got the OMP catalog today and found they sell steering wheel spacers very similar to SPEEDMAN's solution. I need around 3" to fit properly and these will give me 2.5" (60mm).. check it out:

    http://www.ompracing.it/en/disvolen1.htm

they have an adjustable one too:

    http://www.ompracing.it/en/disvolen.htm

I'll have to call tomorrow for pricing, but these things seem perfect. They sell a few different colors, and I understand OMP steering wheels have the same bolt pattern as Momo steering wheels.

Does anyone know a reasonably priced US distributor of OMP stuff?
