I installed a set of 360 wheels on my 348. Put new tires 225/45-18 front, 285/35-18 rear. Front has no rubbing problem. Rear rubs the fender when going through a bump.

Here is what I am thinking to do to solve the rubbing issue:

    1. change to rear tire size to 275/35-18, or
    2. machine the wheel 10mm.

Personally I prefer not to machine the wheels. I rather try replacing tires to 275/35-18. What do you guys think? Any good suggestion will be a big help. Thanks a lot.

What year is hour car? If its a SS, Challenge or spider no changes needed. Otherwise u need spacers and stock fire size.

Like i said in your last thread, use the 275. And machine them also.

^ I'm with John on this one. I think the 360 wheels on the rear of a 348 simply look (my own opinion) too larger without being machined down about 10-12mm.

The 275 will be slightly stretched on your wheel , pulling the shoulder in a little creating a little mor clearence. My 550 wheels are 10.5 wide and i have zero rubbing, and my car is lowered

IMO if the wheels are not machined it makes the car look like a 70's muscle car with cragar's and air shocks.

Went by a tire shop earlier. They told me 275 and 285 have not much difference? They recommend to go down to 265/35-18?

I have 265/35 and have no problem with standard 360 wheels. BTW 215 in front = quick steering!

For those who had machined their 360 wheels, is there any issues or problem after the wheels are machined off? will shaving the wheel harm the integrity of the wheel? Thanks.

Just went through the same procedure. Installed 360 wheels and tires on my 1990 348 ts. Rear wheels looked way too proud and rubbed periodically when hitting a bump. Had 3/8 " machined off rear wheels and purchased shorter (328 abs) 40 mm bolts to re-install. Looks good now. ps. two small wheel hanging studs must be removed from hubs after wheel machining to allow clearance. JGW

I end up changing tires to 275/35-18. 285/35-18 just a bit too bulky.
With 275/35-18, it barely rubs, and the car looks much better and normal from rear.
I will do alignment next to bring camber in a bit. I think that will solve the rubbing issue. If not, I will consider roll the fender. Or "cut" or "grinde" the fender lip just enough to fit.
Now I have my 285/35-18 tires for sale. They are Bridgestone S-04.
