Chelsea is turning 11. When we we go out to eat, she is sick of the standard Kids Menu. I don't blame her, but if I buy her a $13.95 plate, I know she will only eat a third of it (but really enjoy it!).

Since her mom (Melodie) owns a restaurant, my idea is that she offer an 'upper end' kids menu that is a scaled down version of the main menu. i.e.: smaller steak and pasta portions of the adult meal at a price between the full meal and a kids meal.

Question: Would you dine out more often at restaurants that have such a side menu for kids? I think it is a great idea that Melodie is giving serious consideration to.

    Yes I would.

But it would never work, it's just to humane and customer friendly.

The parents are the one who make the restaurant choices, and usually dine out with family, so worst comes to worst, you can share entrees with one another.... Don't really see it as a big selling point... besides, most kids can't really appreciate the difference between filet mignon, and a burger...

Not sure of the kids menu. But doesn't Outback have a Jr. steak or something? Sometimes I even get that with a potatoe & salad, but for ordering off of the kids menu it's only 2 bucks extra.

WRONG! This is not in line with inflatable dart boards, etc. Please reply if you have kids and face this from time to time.
