Perhaps this came to my mind after the numbing recitation by Mosely on cost savings...

From an interview for Octane by Steve Havelock (April 2005...):

"What we (Minardi team) are fighting for in 2005 is to beat Jordan, and in 2006 and 2007 to get into midfield. But we will only achieve that if there is a fairer distribution of the wealth in F1, and that will only happen if we have a new agreement."

--- (really? that is your highest aspiration?)

    On Minardi:

"With a team with so much tradition and passion, it would not be easy to hand it over to someone who has a corporate mentality, who would perhaps move it to the Middle East, sub-contract it out or whatever. So, I'm there for the immediate future."

--- (what exactly was that great tradition? You sure didn't seem to waste any time cashing the check, and tried to keep the Minardi name for yourself to use in other non-F1 venues, right?)

    On his educational achievements:

"I started work at the age of 14, the legal day that I could leave school"

--- (maybe that explains something, although he is a kind of self-made success...just not in Formula One)

    ________

What bugs me practically the most about F1 these days is the constant whining for more and more money on all sides. I think this and the apparant disregard for best technological practice is more worrying than the Spygate.
