I agree, but I rather like the rosso red centre mirror, and I am intrigued by the very first pic of the rear engine intakes. I wonder if they work?
The whale penis intake looks off, IMHO. Whale penis intakes don't even look good on whales! Why put them on cars?
Its ugly of course and whats worse , its poorly done. I guess he hasnt visited an underground parking for quite some time ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think cars like these are great, when the owners get bored then can't sell them, we get to buy very cheap project cars! Although the people who did this don't seem to grasp the fact that the easiest way to destroy a ferraris re-sale value is to add on some tacky useless spoilers!
Believe it or not these pictures come from Japanese website www.bdv-sin.com and none of them are photoshopped. This site is trying to sell all these bad taste mods. I reckon the owners of the above cars must be the equivalent to a JAP DEL BOY. Japanese - you've gotta love em! However I can't see this company making much profit, but I still wouldn't mind one of those interior mirrors.
I can't connect through that link, but I would like to see what else they have done. The mirror is OK. The air scoops would certainly work, giving considerable ram-air effect to the engine at speed. The drag would increase but the extra cool air squashed into the combustion chambers would offset this. I agree that there are some terrible examples in those modifications with no sympathy shown for the original design ethos. Some customisers however, will produce radical examples to stir up controversy and thereby generate publicity for the quality of their workmanship (not necessarily the tastefulness of the designs). For example the extreme TRs would not appeal to the vast majority of F-car owners but there will be someone out there who will go to them for other, more moderate, body modifications and the mirror would appeal to a much larger section of the F-car community. People put down the "ricers" but serious car designers (and I know a few) monitor what is happening on the street because this is the raw breeding ground of fashion and today's fashion may well evolve into tomorrow's mainstream. Keep an open mind - you can vote with your cheque book.
