Visited the Arizona auctions again this year. Not that I am in the market for anything, just keeping myself informed. They are sort of car shows to me. Besides, it is a good time of the year to visit Arizona.

Some of the action results have been posted in the BaT thread, but here I list all the Dinos I saw - except for the one at Barrett-Jackson. I never go to the B-J auctions (too many auctions at once), but I always try to make it to the three important ones: RM Sotheby’s, Bonham’s and Gooding&Co.

    1. Red GTS no 07898 at RM Sotheby’s

Looked like a typical Dino - with some needs - to me. Nothing unusual.
By the way, the description by RM is wrong in saying that it was cosmetically restored in its original factory colors. Obviously, this is not Rosso Cordoba - not even close. Either that, or the original color was not Rosso Cordoba. Either way, it is misleading info.

    Sold for $ 302,000

The better of the two Dinos at RM. Very nice.

    Sold for $ 340,500

    3. Fiat Dino 2.0-liter at RM Sotheby’s

Fairly well preserved Fiat Dino Spider, marred by some interior wear and faded tail light lenses. Still, quite nice.

    Sold for $ 120,960

    4. Yellow GTS no 04460 at Bonham’s

Another typical Dino, in need of some attention. Spiderweb lines in the paint on the right rear fender, among other things.

    Sold for $ 280,000

An apparently original, unmolested and unrestored low-mileage car. By far the best of the 246 Dinos covered in this post. Really lovely.

Quite a shock then, when the car did not sell and the bidding stopped at $ 230,000! What is wrong with people, I wondered.

It was then listed as Still for Sale on the Gooding web site with an asking price of 315K. It quickly found a buyer, though, so there is some justice in this world after all. Now listed as sold.
The buyer is to be congratulated!

    Sold for $ 302,000

    6. Red Dino 308 GT4 no 15520 at Gooding & Co.

This car was beyond excellent. I would say Concours condition. Probably the best 308 GT4 I have seen. Sold well above its estimate. Nice to see these cars finally getting the recognition they deserve.

    Sold for $ 140,000
