I have a 81 gtsi with some electric problems. I replaced fuseblocks a few months ago with Birdmans. They look and work great. There has been some work done in there before and I think someone changed the wiring orders.
problems I am having 1- horn does not work- I checked power at horn motor nothing. The ground is good. I don't here a relay click so I swaped out a relay still nothing. I checked the fuse that runs the relays and it is good. The horn worked after I put it the new fuse boxes so it is not that.
2- High beam on drivers side does not work. I put in new bulb still nothing. I am going to take it out now and check for ground and power. I don't know if this is right or not when i turn on my lights the little blue light comes on in the dash, then when I turn on high beens the little blue light goes out. I thought the blue light is for high beams.
What I would like to do is check all the wiring to the fuse boxes and check that they are in the proper places which I know they are not. Does anyone have a diagram or good pictures of the fuse boxes. Any help would be great I do 90% of the work to the car and the info that I have found by doing searches on fchat have help me so much.
    thanks JIm

When my horn was not working it was due to a broken wire in the steering wheel. I pulled the button out and the wire was just hanging there. Someone suggested wrapping dental floss around the button to get it out. I found fingernails were sufficient. To fix the wire I had to get the steering wheel off. That required a 30 mm craftsman socket carefully ground down with an angle grinder to make the tool.

If you don't hear the relay click, check out the wire between horn button and relay. It would be so much easier if you had electrical drawings set (FerrariAds.com) to know colors etc.

Re the headlights- below is a partial view showing wires of interest - taken from the aforementioned drawing set. The high beam indicator comes from second fuse in right bank. If it is on during low beams it must get juice through the bulb which has a bad ground (at the headlight cable). Going out with high beams on indicates fuse is blown as well. The G1 G2 are posts where wires ground to the chassis nearby.

Thanks for help all fixed. Bad ground for head light and horn button was not making contact with steering wheel housing.
