I don't get what this means either. I must admit, I really don't know what the heck is going on in half of these threads...PlAYa, WeRd, Yo MoMma, NeRf....say what? Some day I need to be brought up to speed. Cheers, Todd
In coming to grips with the linguistic legerdemain of "the kids" I'd recommend a variety of techniques, should you wish to comprehend the colloquialisms and jargon in play: - First, forget everything you learned about "slang" in the 1980s, 1970s, and yes, even the 1960s and 1950s. Oh, and definately the 1940s and in some rare cases the 1930s. The only possible exception is the Barbara Billingsly role in Airplane: "Oh stewardess! I speak jive." - Next, take your mind to a better place. Let go of your obsession with punctuation, spelling, subjects & predicates, verbs, interjections, prepositions, grammar of any kind. Just start typing and oCcaSSIoNaLly Hit THaT shIfT kEY - Finally, spend some time with the Urban Dictionary. It'll clarify everything on the board that you cannot immediately identify, except, of course when some new mutation occurs like right now: BOoyAKaSHSHA fWERRfF ZeN! ...but we all know what that means and shouldn't need any clarification of the point. http://www.urbandictionary.com Good luck and I hope that you can join us as we continue our verbal skulduggery soon.
That was great, what are you guys talking about? If you weren't laughing or at least smiling, you're not in our generation, bc if you were, you woulda been .
I'm always smiling...I'm not sure if it's b/c I have the lord in my heart or bottle of red in me...but I'm smiling Btw, I still don't know what "BOoyAKaSHSHA fWERRfF ZeN!" means. Perhaps we could clarify this over a game a blackjack at Gieger's Gin Mill soon. God bless, TTG
