    Road and Track March 1997
Used Car Classic article on the 78-85 308
Some examples: "A savvy machanic know that a set of Repco brake pads ($45 a set) works just as well as Ferrari pad ($180 a set), that an electric radiator fan switch from a VW Rabbit ($10) is the equal of a Ferrari switch ($63) or that the electric mirror switch from a BMW 7-Series ($26) is the same one Ferrari uses ($70)."

I bought this magazine back in 97 because of the 308 article. Now that I am actively looking for one, it has come in very handy.

    Forza October 2000
    308 Buyer's Guide
Example: They had a 79 GTB and an 84 GTS. "While there is no question the QV engine is smoother and easier to use, its sound fails to reveal its competition breeding like the earlier V8 does. That, though, is the only way the earlier Ferrari is superior."

    Forza February 2005
Waiting for Enzo "Deciding to buy a Ferrari is the easy part; choosing the right one is the challenge. George Avgerakis explains how he found the perfect 308"
Example: "All the side windows have the St. Gobain logo engraved in their corners. Around the inside of the door post and the tight edge between the door side and the window molding make sure that black overlaps red. The reverse means cheap repaint."

Both Forza articles are very informative. The Waiting for Enzo article is a must-have in my opinion. I ordered both last week from Forza's back issues.

Hope this can help those that are looking for a 308 :)

    Unfortunately, neither are available now.

I almost forgot about that article. Thanks for the reminder.

Here's one I picked up on Ebay a few weeks ago-dated Feb 77'. It makes me wonder just how many Car mags wrote articles that are floating around about the 308. (not just buyers guides)

Not only does the new issue of Forza have a guide (Part 1 of 2; part 2 being the Mondial/348/355 in next issue), but I'm told the October 2006 issue of Hemmings has a guide also.

A lot. I have been buying and keeping them since 81. Ebay really opened the door for me. I have probably 150 so far. Some are magazines that are not even primarly car related. For example, Popular Mechanics from about 81 has a comparison test with a 308 in it. Phil Hill was involved in that one.
