Here's an interesting tale: several months ago, while driving home from work, I spotted, out of the corner of my eye, the distinctive front-end styling of a "V-Line" Hudson Hornet. In my rear-view mirror, I could see that the Hudson was one of a number of cars parked along Gresham Road in Marietta, GA.

The next day, I slowed down after rounding the curve that preceded the lot where these cars were parked, and took a closer look. Six cars, all icons of the '50s and early '60s. I was determined to come back and photograph them.

As I never got "a round tuit", it was a while before I did just that. I found a good opportunity when I had to buy a disposable Kodak camera while on vacation in late February. When I returned from my trip, I still had about a dozen frames left in the camera, and I realized that this would be a good opportunity to shoot those cars. So the following weekend I went over there late one afternoon and took the attached photos. For a $7 disposable camera, they're not bad, though the shutter was obviously more generous than the viewfinder, which indicates why there's so much empty space around the cars.

The lot in question was behind a small used-car dealer, but I think these cars were unrelated to the dealer. I don't know whether the use of this lot for this purpose was even authorized! About a week later, the Imperial (clearly in the best condition of the group) was gone, and several weeks later, all the cars were gone, replaced by cars placed by the dealer, who apparently now needed his space back.

Incidentally, I drove my Ferrari over to the lot to take the photos. You can see it at the far left of the 7th pic.

There is a Desoto like the one you show about two miles from where I live. It has not moved in over two years. I do not know if it is for sale or not. I love those old 50's and 60's car. I guess my age is showing..............
