Spent some quality time with Dr. Simeone's collection today. Here are some shots of his fine old Alfas. Dave, I have been there a number of times and it is awesome!! Dave did Dr. Fred mention anything about his upcoming museum? Erik
It was a very big group today. Not the normal 10-15 I'm used to. He did collect some $$$ for the new deal, but didn't really specify what he was up to. DM
Saying some nice old Alfas is a bit like going to the Louvre and seeing some nice old paintings. I'd take an 8C2300 Monza over any Ferrari (although an SWB or GTO would be close...). George
And part of a collection that includes one gt40 MK II, one MK IV, two gullwings, a 250 and 275 Ferrari, a Maserati 3000, several Stutz's, a porsche 917, an alfa race car (pic below) a d type Jag, a Briggs cunningham car, all with some race history, and Phil Spector's Cobra Daytona, among others. Just an amazing collection that spans two generations of collectors, and could not be owned by a nicer, more generous gentleman who takes time out, regularly, to lead tours of his cars. Here are a couple more pictures. Just unbelievable when you walk in. DM look at the PDF, that's the view I got walking in the door. Clearly the problem is that my garage is simply not big enough. You forgot to mention the DB21 next to the TR. GJ
Those both Italian Marque-Alfa and Ferrari, whatever their looks like, vintage till latest model...always great in red...
Great pictures, but why is that kid urinating on the right rear wheel of the pale blue car in the 2nd pic? His name isn't Calvin is it?
Because it was a lowly Bugatti D type amongst all those beautiful Alfa Romeos, I guess. I didn't trust that kid the entire time. I saw him stuff a Jaguar into his jacket later. DM
I know I've posted some of these about two years ago, but he has added a couple of cars since my last visit. And, he does have the MOST AMAZING COLLECTION I've ever been in the presence of. Great photos, thanks. The south Florida Alfa Romeo club had its annual concours, Bella Machinna, on Sunday March 26. Photos are posted near the end of the Florida and include some very nice Alfas.
