I've got a friend at work who's '02 M5 was stolen out of the Greenwich, CT LIRR train station last Monday.

Anyway, he's tossed up currently between the Quatroporte and the new M5. On the Q, I can't find a price anywhere on the website, what are they currently moving for in sport and executive versions?

What are the maintenance interval and costs like? I'm assuming that there's a requisite belt change every 15K like on the F-cars, but is it still engine-out? Anyone had a 15K done on a Q yet, and if you don't mind me asking, what did it run you?

If anyone's watching the new M5 .. what's the waiting list like?

Hey Bill, I was on the trail of an M5 but got tired of waiting for firm release dates so I bought a QP and took delivery of it last December. Car is great fun and I'm now glad I got it over the M5. I'm sure the M5 will be awesome but the QP is an adventure; quirky in a nice way, somehow muscular and feminine at the same time.

I paid 113K; sport package, deluxe seat package, sunroof. 6K service was 600 bucks (for an oil change and computer read out - I'd do that differently next time). There is quite a bit of info on service interval costs on this board and a couple other of the Maser/Ferrari boards. Seems the 18K service is between 1500 and 2000; depending upon where you take it.

No, as there is no belt on the 4200 motors... so unlike F's except 430 and up as it too has no belt as basis in the same M 4200 engine.
