    Hi there,

about a week ago I pulled all error codes from my passengers ECU.

    They were

    4112 (Stroke Sensor)
    4121 (CAT Temp ECU)
    1114 (O2/Lambda sensor)

After that I reseted the ECU (unplug battery) because I did a lot of repair over the last months and wasn't sure if disconnecting some plugs etc could affect it.

Yesterday I pulled them again and they were:

    4121 (CAT Temp ECU)
    1114 (O2/Lambda sensor)
    4114 (TDC Control Unit)

I have to say that some days ago I was at a security training an the engine stalled a bit often while we were practicing sudden situations.

So I do not have a constant check engine light. Both light up when key put in ignition and as soon as I start the engine they disappear.

Last week while driving high speed on the Autobahn the check engine light from passengers ECU came on for 2-3 seconds and the disappeared again.

    So to the errors:

    1114
It seems that the o2 sensor really has an issue as it is in there two times. I also see some (minor) issues with IDLE when the engine is hot. Would you replace it?

    4121
It says the (silly) cat temp ecu is bad in both runs. I never had any slow down lights coming up. What you think?
    Maybe swap right/left?

    4112
Was not in the second run of errors I pulled... Would you do something about it?

    4114
Is there any indication other then the code when this goes wrong? The engine runs fine...

If TDC Control Unit = Top Dead Center Control Unit that would concern me, if the error IS actually real.

If you pull the codes when the engine is not running you will always gets the the code for the TDC (4114). Since the engine is not rotating the Motronic ECUs aren't getting a signal and thus "think" there is a problem with the crank sensors. So, if you pulled the codes while the engine was running then you have a genuine problem with your crank sensor. But if you pulled the codes with the engine OFF then it could be a "false" code.

The reason you are getting the cat temp code (4121) is because the Motronic is not getting a signal from the cat temp ecu. The Motronic stores it as a silent code, and that is why you won't get a check engine light for it, and will only see that code when you pull the others. It is also why you don't get any slow down light. Your cat ECUs are probably unplugged.

If you are only having the problem with the O2 sensor on one bank, swap it from one side of the engine to the other. This is to see if the check engine light jumps side. If it does and you get the same code (1114 (remember to pull the codes while the engine is ON and idling)) then you have found the problem.
