I took delivery of my 1991 348 TS in February. I did everything by the book for the purchase including 2 PPI's which included a leak down test, and a 2 hour test drive which I drove 6 1/2 hours to get to. Service history was immaculate and so was the car. This was a great deal considering it came with a new clutch, starter and too many other things to mention. I have spent 2 years looking for the right car. So there was NO doubt in my mind that this was a great car. (I had driven 6 others). Upon delivery, the car would not stop backfiring. It has been to 2 shops including Ferrari of Washington twice to diagnose and fix the problem. It turned out to be the potentiometer. In between the loud and embarrassing emissions however, the car was like no other. But today it's fixed..... and if you want to know why to chose this over an NSX or Corvette. This is why; Six people were standing around the car when my wife and I came out from the restaurant tonight. I spoke with some and inspired others. The same intrinsic values apply to the drive. Once you get used to the rough idle, the very precise clutch and find that sweet spot for a seating position, you immediately feel the difference compared to any other car. The torque curve extends longer than expected and right away it sounds like all of the F1/IRL races on TV only there is no TV. It's you. I came from the garage tonight wishing it was tomorrow to drive again. The help on this forum is outstanding. If you are considering buying a 348, do it with the confidence that assistance in any facet of the purchase and ownership is right here. Thanks to all that helped. You'll be seeing me around.
