No he did not - presumably for the same reason MS & RB did not when they wore the stupid red wigs a year or two ago....
That was pretty bad too, but at least there's a connection to their team by wearing the red wigs. And it was always in a joking atmosphere. This one-off PR stuff is so tacky, I'm surprised they didn't do it here in the States. (Although I guess NASCAR did, with "Cars".) Anyway, wearing the cape up onto the podium? Among the Monaco royals? What would the British press say if Alonso wore a Superman cape up onto the steps of Buckingham palace as he greeted the Queen? Either way, F1 has such strict podium policies that there MUST be a violation there somewhere!
Is it a bird, is it a plane? No it is Super DC, scaling tall buildings and winning the championship. THIS is the year! I agree, there is probably a rule violation for podium ceremonies, but I'm sure the movie promoters are glad to pay that. Small price for this kinda promo. I was wondering at what point the PR guy realized DC would make the podium and started scrambling for the cape.
i'm in the french riviera now and was at the race yesterday with a bunch of DC's friends. He was instructed/payed to wear it, the guys that are producing Superman (note the livery on the car) are sponsering his car, it was all part of the deal. his dignity aside, it was all part of the job.
Oh for cying out loud, just because it's F1 doesn't mean you can't have some fun!(sponsors included) You know DC will get grief for this. But, he was on the podium for the first time in how long? He probably felt like Superman! It made me laugh after being PO'd through the whole race.
It looks like one of those glow-in-the-dark skeleton costumes I used to wear on Halloween when I was a kid.......... And Briatore...... HOW did he get into Klum's pants ?
that, i didn't see. everyone on the balcony was quite civilized. i would not have known about DC's cape if it wasn't for his friends.
