You would be buying at the hype of the market. As ...how can I say this nicely....dumb (?) as buying a $2M condo in Downtown Miami today.

...that is besides being one ugly SOB.

    did that help? :)

OK, I wanted one also. I wanted a '69 Camaro Z28 more. Actually, one of those aluminum block 427 Camaros was my first choice, but at 16 I settled for a 427 three deuce '69 Stingray. To this day, that car was my experience with a coffin on wheels.

But I would never buy any car on an EBAY auction without prior inspection. So Mark, that should stop you.

Look at the last few auctions, muscle cars - esp. Vettes - aren't selling. Pretty soon all the "investors" are going to flee and prices are going to crash. Better off investing in (another) Ferrari. For that money, Martin could find you a nice 328 to use as a daily driver.

If you want it, go for it! It's your money. I don't know that I'd ever buy a car off of ebay. Test drive, carfax, inspection are so important to me... I dunno. It is a nice car. :)
    427... drool. :D

I'm not stopping you. I liked that car too in H.S... With all the hype about old muscle cars I even thought I might still be interested. Then I was driving about a week ago and saw one one the road with me and I thought, "you know, I'm getting a feeling of wanting it anymore".... I thought it looked so 80's and out of place.

But what do I know? It could be worth $1 mill. in 10 years with the way BJ auctions go.

Ridiculous amount of money... Have you ever driven any of those 60's, 70's muscle cars? They sound cool and go like hell in a straight line but that's it. They're poorly built, they can't turn and can't stop! I grew up in the late 60's & 70's, my dad was a car dealer, we had a LOT of the muscle cars that are so popular today... I've driven them all, they're miserable cars!!!

The bubble is BURSTING... If you really want one, wait a year or 2, you'll be able to pick up all of them you want for a fraction of the prices today.

More so, in order for something to be worth that would require another dumb-behind to have paid $999,000 the week before.

You ask me the car is overpriced at $2000. From the looks I would not pay more than $1 for it. The engine is worth $200 to put on a display block, trash the rest. But then, I never went to highschool in the 70s here in the US so those backseats do not envoke any memories. Should be easier to find and call the highschool prom queen and see how fat she is today. That will turn your "memory lane" trip off in a heartbeat and will not leave you with a piece of metal in your garage.

You'd think they'd at least post some pics of the engine since that's the only reason to buy it. :) Although going 212 mph in a Corvette must be an interesting experience, I'll let someone else do it. LOL

if it invokes nostalgia, sometimes that is priceless.

if the time is right, and it makes you happy, man up and buy that thing!
