the only thing more entertaining than that random, nutty finish to the season (congrats to SV and RBR!!!) is the nutty lot getting their last jabs in for the season (hopefully). with several clearly expressing (again, and again, and again) their 'dislike' for a particular spaniard. c'mon y'all, get it all off your chest while the manure is fresh!!! you know it won't have the same sting next week, so dump it all right now boys (in Steve Matchette voice) :) race....that was a very entertaining and bizarre finish to the season!!! who saw that coming? FA, MW both short of the top 5? NUTS:) Very disappointing finish to the season for MW...and especially FA. Just had to cash in a 4th place. Great strategic move by the team today. GRRRREAT:)

hmm...on another note, if i re-register with another username (cough, cough) and use my first few posts to bash or cry about x,y,z..wouldn't my ip still show up as the same? Andreas?

Gloating is a time honored tradition in the F1 section, and there is SO MUCH to gloat over! :)

On the re-registering thing, just be careful - if you have 2 accounts, it's grounds for a perma-ban, and your IP address would be the same. Wouldn't want to see anyone banned over the Alonso/Webber chokefest ;)

Good race and good result. Mark never really looked on the pace at all, which is a shame because there isn't many more years in him left and honestly, i think that was his only chance. He has never been a good No. 2 driver, and he certainly is that at RBR next year. Id like to see Mark go to Ferrari and Kobayashi to RBR. Koba must be Sato's son, the kamikaze moves are strong with him :)

It was really nice to see apparent genuine congratulations from Lewis and Jenson. I never saw Mark congratulate Seb, must of feel asleep when that happened.

I'm really disappointed in the track. What a snooze fest. I hope that they do change it, but the Arabs have the money that Bernie likes, so i guess that wont happen.

just as i posted that, i return to see this thread heading down the toilet at a much greater rate. eeesh.... but like i said, it's time to stack the manure nice and high. :)

Why would Ferrari want a washed up choker (yeah, yeah, he's a nice guy). Ferrari needs TWO fast drivers to fight for WDC, Alonso's ego be damned. So Alonso/Hulk(or Kubica). Maybe Button.

Mark isnt fast? 5 poles this year compared to Alonso's 2? Mark isn't perfect id admit, however this year i think that he's shown that he has the talent for Ferrari. 1000% better than Massa. Hulk?? One pole, hardly saw him at all this year. Kubica would be a good choice, hes fast and very very talented.

I find the one finger thing that Seb does, to be very obnoxious.

Much better car then Alonso. Ferrari needs a young driver they can build up, not a grand-pa on the verge of retirement.

The problem with Webber, other than inconsistent results, is that he has already shown himself to be very sensitive to feelings that he's not getting a fair shake.

Ferrari isn't looking for an equal to Alonso, they are looking for a #2. I can't see Webber being happy in that role, nor can I see Ferrari being happy with him.

I can't actually think of many drivers who would be good in the #2 Ferrari seat, not that would want the seat anyway. It would be very hard to beat Alonso, which means virtually anyone that takes that seat is guaranteed to be the designated #2. Right now Kubica is the #1 at an up-and-coming team that recently won WDC's. I tend to think he has a better thing going now than he would in the 2nd Ferrari seat.

Ferrari could get a guy with promise from a lower team - IMO that's what they did when they signed Barrichello and Massa, but if you get a guy who turns out to be good - like Rosberg, they aren't going to stick around at Ferrari long being #2.

It's actually a pretty tough decision for Ferrari, assuming they want to ditch Massa for '11 (remember, he has a contract).

Yes it would and believe me we're looking for that.

There are clear patterns in writing style/opinions expressed and today I did a few IP checks that came up with interesting results. ;)

When something major like a WDC decision happens and all of a sudden new people show up with like 1 or 2 posts to their name throwing their opinions around you know something is up.

Gloating is fun if you deal with mature friends. If the gloating hits some cry babies who can't see the fault in their own positions then it is a bit lost.

I have reason to gloat today but quite frankly there too many *******s online right now that I wouldn't enjoy it. And that does NOT include you Sire. We disagree on many things, but you are a fine person to argue with.

Webber was sacrificed and Ferrari fell for the trap. It was so telegraphed it's unbelievable that Ferrari fell for it.

Congrats to RB on the cinematic team orders.

While I'm a friend of conspiracy theories here I just dont see one. I think it was much simpler than that:

    - Vettel was unbeatable
    - The McLarens were faster than the Ferrari on this track

=> A 4th place wouldn't be enough for Alonso to get the title, so he drove the car home hoping Vettel's Renault would let go. The only option he had.

This year the Ferrari was only good on certain tracks. But the RB and to some degree the McLarens were the better cars. Abu Dhabi is smooth like a billard table, this is where the best cars could shine and guess what: They did.

Thanks. You mean that Alonso beats the Fossil in points at season's end?

Sure. Sounds unfair to me because by now we know that he has lost it, but if you insist.

+1 yup add Petrov and the fast running Renault's and you got it.

MS's spin put Petrov and Ros into unforeseen play.

That's true. If it wasn't for MS crashing, FA probably would have finished 4th. I wonder if he'd been reading all of Andreas' posts and thought a bit of payback was in order? ;)

Petrov was also unbeatable. If the RB's are faster you don't commit suicide by dropping both of your drivers in the middle of the pack. They should have dropped Massa only. They were trounced on strategy. It wasn't a loss, it was an embarrassing loss.
