    Someone unsuccessfully tried to log into my fchat account. Here is the email message I got this morning as i opened up my email:

    If anyone is computer-savy at finding out who it was based on ip address, I'd sure welcome an answer. THank you.

    i sent a pm to rob lay to see if he can check his databases for ip address logins by all fchat users to see if it is someone here on the forums.

    So it's someone that uses AOL. Not that that helps very much, but better than nothing...

    also found a site that says that IP is based out of Shawnee Mission Kansas. don't know how accurate that is though. It says mine is based in Newark NJ

    Edit: Strange. Just did another search and it came up that its based in NYC to America Online. Anyone you know that moved from Kansas?

    rob lay just pm'ed me back. he said that noone has logged into fchat with that ip address before.

    The IP is in the AOL range. It's someone connecting to Fchat using the integrated AOL browser. Proxy-IP Tunnell-FEP-BERP logs are stored for 24 hours.

    I see 1,394 screennames in the log for that IP in the last 24 hours...

    wats intergrated AOL browser? you mean one can surf internet using AOL browser to hide their true IP?

    I'm guessing you mean 1,394 AOL screennames?

    And Rob says no one logged into fchat from that IP before... anyone know if he can see if guests have visited from that IP before? What about other login attempts from that IP?

    I found entries for all sorts of people surfing with that IP on all sorts of dubious sites from Florida to Washington state. Porn to trucking. I think your SOL on identifying the scoundrel at this point.

    GLad to know the system will lock your account if it detects this activity.

    I wonder what the "Other Hubert" would have posted if he cracked your account? :)

    As much as Hubert and I fight, I have to agree with him and state that I got the same message in my e mail today. I did not really think about it until I saw his thread on it. Could the same person have been the one that did the Tubi thread?
