Well, I have always believed no TRUE CAR (or truck) GUY has ever been enamored by or have a desire to drive, let alone own an “EV”, modern or bastardized vintage cars/trucks. And IMO same goes for minivans & those other popular suburban soccer mom shopping carts known as SUV’s, etc. Note the common denominator, “V”.
No it isn’t no one gives a crapif you destroy a car still in production or lift a pickup. no one cars if you add a turbo to a Honda. Most of Sema has nothing to do with classic car destruction which this is
Perhaps you or I don't, but I imagine there are those who do. OTOH, I don't give a crap about anything S/CEMA (or most other similar organizations) does, is or represents.
Haven’t found it yet. It’s not in the EV section. Another b@sturdized car. Such a pity. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Forgetting the EV aspect, there are SO MANY other parts of this that don't make sense..... The Dino was an amazing driving car. Why not take a wreck or basket case? EVEN MORE SO - the interior was all there, why would this be a better option? It look like a boat interior or Retro-Mod Corvette. This is so crazy?!?!?
Some here may not realize that all these types of EV or restomod “conversions”(?) are usually built for marketing reasons only and fully or partially funded by the product manufacturers whose stands they are displayed on. Once their purpose, i.e. “15 minutes of fame”, is served, they will be discarded as “old news”and new rounds of marketing budget allocations will be granted to constructors of next years showstoppers at CSEMA and other trade shows or TV ads. The main reason to start the “build” with a good and complete car is to make the entire process quicker and easier. And again, none of these “creations” are intended as an actual car to be driven/used. OTOH, despite what their owners might claim, vast majority of classic & exotic cars tend to suffer from same fate. The businesses paying for or sponsoring these don’t care how they’re achieved, so you might want to keep that in mind next time you’re considering a purchase of their product(s).
And let's not forget that car & truck manufacturers have also been "creating" display only showstoppers with no intended practicality or use to auto salons/shows for over 100 years and counting.
